House of DeVone

[Persephone DeVone]

Persephone looked at the house before her. It was a small cottage, and it needed some work, but she was certain that she could fix it up. Maybe she could even add a small garden in the back that would provide her with not only food, but for some flowers.

She smiled at the thought and entered it. Dust seemed to cover everything, and she frowned slightly. Her silvery eyebrows drew together as she focused on how to remove all of the dust. She sighed deciding it was best to do it all manually before she started classes at the Academy.

Once she had done that, she continued through the house, and smiled. She could do this. She could make it into a home, and she could do it all by herself. It would be the house she had always wanted.

She walked back to the front door and sat down. She breathed in the crisp and air and sighed. Her small frame shuddering with the intake of breath.

*Selena was walking around looking at all the houses and wondering if she could meet some people around her house. She looked up at a house and saw Persephone. She had met her in the library, she had been so kind to her. 'i wonder if i should say hi. I dont want to seem like i follow her around or anything.' She decided to say hi and if Persephone didnt seem like she wanted to talk she would make up an excuse to leave. She walked to the front of her house and smiled at her.* "Hey Persephone!"

"Hey Selena!"

Persephone practically beamed as she spoke. She was glad to have met someone else that lived, or was wandering, around her house. It would be a lot less boring having a friend around, and it might even be fun.

"Do you want to come in? There's not much here yet, but it's a cozy place?"

*Selena excitedly walked up the steps to Persephone's house. It looked old and beautiful, if not abandoned for a long period of time.* "It's beautiful." She said. "Thank you for inviting me in."

"No problem. I hope you excuse the little bit of dusts that's left. I got most of it out, but it just keeps popping up again."

Persephone opened the door, and waited for her friend to enter first. Selena would enter the Living Room area first. It was large for the size of her cottage and quite spacious. There was a chair that looked old but comfortable and a low table in front of it. There was a couch and sofa also in the room that matched the crimson of the chair. All of the furniture looked cozy and comfortable though.

*Selena walked in and looked around in awe. It was a bit dusty but the antiqueness of it made up for it by far. It was beautiful. She walked over to the crimson furniture and ran her fingers along it. It was gorgeous. She couldnt find words to describe it.* "Its so...ancient." *Was all she got out. quickly thinking that sounded rude she added.* "I mean...its so beautiful...its like an antique."

"Yeah, it was all here when I bought the cottage. I was amazed to find out that no body wanted it, so I just kept it. And it's probably the most comfortable furniture I've seen. I mean, it just looks cozy."

She smiled fondly on the furniture. If the owner before her hadn't left it here, she was almost positive she wouldn't be able to find anything like it anywhere else. So maybe she was beyond lucky for stumbling upon this place.

Selena left the furniture and looked at her surroundings. The front room was old but beautiful. She loved the color. Red, it was a beautiful color as no one knew. She could feel the vividity of it (i think i just made that word up...vividity lol). She saw some dust still but it almost went with the house. She felt welcomed as if she could live here if she wanted, but she had her own home to go to. "If you need any help with cleaning, I love to clean and i would more than happily do it for free. I owe you so much already for befriending me."

"Alright then. The dust seems to be multiplying; so I'll definetly take you up on that offer soon! Do you have your own house then?"

Persephone was curious as to where Selena was staying, and she wondered what the other houses around here looked like. She'd boughth this one upon seeing it and falling in love with the ancientness.

"I live just around the corner there. A small cottage, you cant miss it, i have herbs strung out all over the front portch and a miniature statue of Shiva."

She thought fondly of Shiva in all of his god-like robes of red fire. He had been there for her. He taught her a lot of her dancing skills, and he helped her with the move here after her family died. Placing her attention back to Persephone she smiled.

"Youre more than welcome to come over if ever you need to. My home is open for you anytime. No matter what." She smiled hoping that Persephone knew that by anytime she really meant anytime, midnight, before dawn, she didnt care.

"Alright then. I'll promise I'll come visit you soon, and if you need me, I'll help you clean up your house sometime."

Persephone was glad that Selena had said she could visit anytime, and by the way she had said it, she'd meant any time. That made her relax even more, and she was glad Selena was such a good friend. She honestly didn't know what she'd do without her.

selena smiled. She wanted to tell Persephone her secret, but didnt want to scare her away. She decided that she could...hopefully. "I need to tell you...I dont do it purposely...but sometimes i can read minds...Im telepathic...I just found out a few days ago and Im not sure how to control it exactly. I try to stay out of people's minds. I know that is a private place that i shouldnt intrude on but....I just wanted you to know, I did mean any time!" She laughed nervously hoping Persephone would understand.

"Ok. Well, I understand you don't do it on purpose. I mean, you don't seem like the kind of person to pry into peoples minds when you can't stop yourself. So, I won't hold anything against you as long as you don't mind if fires jump and all when I get...distraught or angry."

She smiled hoping that Selena understood she understood the problems with her abilies. Persephone had been regarded as evil because of her ability with fire, and she could understand all too well what Selena would go through if a lot of people found out. Not all people were so willing to welcome with people with open arms.
