Avean stood up and went to the door.
"Alezand? Why hello!" she exclaimed, pulling him into the house.
Avean grinned, keeping her mind off of Gil who was in the living room. She wasn't quite interested in talking to him anymore for he had truley offended her but she shrugged it off.
"Come hither.." she said walking towards the living room, not wanting Gil to leave because of her rudness.

The thief's eyebrows shot up as he heard a knock at the door, interruptions, interruptions, and Avean almost jumped at the chance to leave the room. Once she was at the door he massaged his temples and wondered what was wrong with the world, then stood up as they reentered the room. It was a guy he hadn't met before, so he stood up and nodded to the man, sticking his hands behind his back.
"Alezand, eh? My name's Gilsworthy." He wondered what Avean would do now that it wasn't just the two of them.

Avean took a seat on the couch, a bit relived but she could still feel the tension.
"Well...take a seat, how have you been?" she asked, her eyes on Gil none the less but she was talking to Alezand.
"Come Gil, take a seat here." she said, patting the space beside her then she turned, facing Alezand.

Gil looked from Alezand, to Avean, then back to Alezand. What was she getting at? Was he missing something in her tone? Putting on a face of kind hospitality, Gil sat next to Avean like he'd been instructed, but not too close. Things could get hectic, now, depending on just who this newcomer was, and how Avean was connected to him.

Avean looked back at Gil, a hint of pain in her eyes. For the last time she had seen Alezand was the day in the library when she had met Rith. She missed him very much but she knew she couldn't be with him.
Avean turned back, giving Alezand a weary yet happy smile.
She laid her hand by her side, leaning on it.

"Gil, I have heard much of you, it is a pleasure to meet you. Avean, m'dear how have you been?", Alezand sat down in the empty seat beside him. In a glance. He could see the tension the permeated through the room. Uneasiness hung heavy in the air. He pretended not to notice the nerviousness of Gil and the odd way Avean was addressing them. Like She was waiting for Gil to act, Gil afaid to act and Alezand was the catalyst to the situation. sighing inwardly, leave it to find more than ones share of drama in the company of lady Avean. He swore that she one of his everyday tests as a hero. He sat waiting on the powder keg that sat before him.

"I've been well." she said, her smile still growing on her lips. "It has been too long since we have seen each other last..."
Avean nodded her head as a bow and felt quite cheery after that.

Alezand still was unsure of the situation, but maintained his composure. "that is good. I had purchased a house just down the lane and was pleased to see that your home was close by. After setting up, taking a couple visiters, I decided I should sy hello to my new neighbor. You are always welcome at my home." he turned to Gil, "All are welcome..." he added.

She grinned wide at the thought of finally having a neighbor who didn't like to peak through their curtains at her as if she was a freak of some sort.

"yes, you should come over for dinner sometime, I do insist." He said to Avean. He thought of it, for a moment, and said "In fact you are both invited to a holiday dinner I shall be hosting in a few weeks. I shall get the rest of my friends along too, I suppose" Rith, Maril and Marim, Mira, Adrienne and others were of an order. " I'll send formal invitations upon the time of the occacion. Please do attend, both of you." He pleaded earnestly.

Gil's eyes flicked between the two of them as they talked, impassive, until Avean gave him a questioning glance and he replied simply, "Undoubtedly." Tapping his fingers together, the thief scrambled for something to say. "So, Avean, how is it you came to own such a marvelous mansion?" he asked at length, letting the warmth of the fire soak into him.

Avean like that the conversation was turned. She smiled and said.
"Well it was passed down from my great-great grandfather to me. Since there was no one else willing to take it..."
Avean trailed off, her eyes laying on the stairs not twenty feet away.
