Her eyes filled with anger as she saw the face for what it was. "Him..." she muttered, walking out of the room and hurrying down the stairs. "I have to go somewhere...I will be back." she said rushing out of the door and heading for the forest.

David entered his manor once again and held the door open for Avean to enter. The house was cleaned this time. Everything was freshly polished and looked as if it was new. The servant greated them at the door and bowed to both of them. The servant then made his way back into the kitchen to get dinner started now that it was late. David went into the living room and sat on the couch infront of the fiire.

Avean walked in and looked about, noting the dust was gone from when she had last seen it.
She followed him into the living room and sat beside him, as though in a trance. Her eyes glittered with flames, her eyes staring intently.

David slouched back into the couch. He was tired from today. He turned and looked Avean. "Are you okay?" he asked her in his normal tone.

She stared deeply into the fire, as though wishing she could jump in and slowly burn her sorrows away. Avean turned and looked at him, without really seeing him.
"I don't know." she said simply, turning back to the fire, a tear stirring in her eye. Avean kept her thoughts on anything else but what had happened but it seemed to poison her mind slowly.

Avean's expression became angered. "I would never care for him, NEVER." she said, her voice lined with rage. "I only care for one man and for him I do not speak of."
Avean felt a tear fall from her eye, her face turning pink from even the thought of caring for the man.

"I'm sorry for angering you." David replied quickly. He wiped away the tear on her cheek. "So who is this man that you care for?"

Avean didn't reply quickly, she just continued to look longingly at the fire. "Just someone." she said slowly, trying not to think.

David smiled at her reply and leaned back into his seat. "Alright. You don't have to tell me, Avean." he told her. He then stretched out his arm and put it behind her. He stared into the fire and watched the flames dance.

Avean leaned back and laid her head on his shoulder, watching the flames with more intensity than before. "I feel safe now." she muttered to him.

David wrapped his arm around her and held Avean close. "I'm glad that you feel safe." he replied to her. He then kissed her head and continued to look into the flames.
