Guin sensed something above her and without thinking she shot an arrow up into the sky, shooting down a hawk.

Catching the hawk as it fell from the sky, Morwen looked up and saw those around her looking her. Setting the bird of prey down, covering it with dirt with her boot, looking at the small mound it made, "To kill an innocent creature for sport or to prove a skill is not one of the most noble of things that man kind is opt to do," Morwen looked at Guinevere who still held her bow, "Is it not the duty of a worrior to presurve life? The sacrifice of only a few to save so many more? The hawk was born free, had its own life and spirit. Only when a worrior understands and respects life in all its forms can he or she really appreciate death and its vistitudes. A mark of a true worrior at heart." Looking back down at the small mound on the ground and back around at the surrounding people, "Do you think that the hawk wanted to die?"

Riley had seemed to remembered he forgotten to sign in. He had just done so when heard Morwen. He approached her and spoke softly.
"But also a Warrior knows how to harm so that the other may not move, seeming dead. We are to preserve life, and we also learn to bring life as much as we take it".
He Kneeled down, bringing the bird from his light grave. He cleaned the dirt off its feathers and turned to Morwen.
"The arrow did not pierce his heart, merely harmed his right wing and side".
He had always loved the birds of prey that flew so much when he was smaller. He pressed a finger to the side of the bird he said was hurt. The bird let out a screech and he stroked his feathers to calm him. He had his pouch this time, so he brought out a small knife and cut the feathers around the birds wound. He placed some white powder there and then gently wrapped his wing, pulling out the broken feather, the fall had broken his wing from trying to fly. He smiled to the bird and let him climb up his arm.
"Life and death sometimes fool us. Sometimes we believe something so much that we are willing to do or say anything to make it understandable to others. You thought this bird to be dead, but it was only unconcious. I must thank you for catching the bird or the impact would have killed him".
He looked to the hawk, his size big as usual, but now seemed relieved to be on Riley's arm, slowly creepying to his shoulder.

"Hmm I do believe you have a new friend," Morwen said as she watched the hawk releived that it was indeed alive. "I cant say that I'm over fond of birds seeming as I tend to relate more to the mountian lion. And I understand the concept of kill or be killed, but I only do so when necissary and in self defence, and believe me I've done my share, or I wouldnt be here enlisting with the army." Looking at the Hawk she smiled then looked up to the young mans face, "My name is Morwen Brandir," she gave a short bow, "I come from a land far from here, and what is your name? If you dont mind me asking?"

Riley bowed his head and replied.
"Riley Lambert..from the land of Ishtaria. I can understand your perspective, but then again life is part of the cycle in which one must kill to survive. Even the animal that eats the grass and green kills the life of the grass or plant. You musn't take it to heart of death because it is part of life and being a warrior you must know that you are no different then the warrior you fight".

"Well arent you one for sore ears? You would have got on well wilth my father who often said that as she told me of old war stories. Although he denied ever partakeing in these tales of valor, he told them in such detail that I am almost certian they are of his own memory." Her deep green eyes seemed to go out of focus as she was momentarily lost in memories of soothing voices and the flicker of candel light. But just as quickly came back into focus as she remembered where she was and smiled pleasently and brushed her hair from her face. She sighed, "I have only been in this kingdom a few days. I think it might be worth staying, and understand for the last few years I have done nothing but travel so I almost concider myself a rover at this point and find it hard to stay in one place." Laughing quietly she shook her head as if remembering something.

Riley chuckled and shook his head.
"I merely speak what I learned and was taught by my father, he understood more things then I ever thought would be possible. Perhaps you should stay Morwen. I must say that perhaps in doing so you'll create an alliance of friends to help you the best they can", he said as the hawk lightly nipped his ear.

Riley nodded and bowed his head.
"Perhaps you are older and may have see many battles, but I do know that my father and you may share the simularity in seeing the same evil thoughout once a peaceful land".
