Lost, but Seeking

Kaldaka's grey eyes were glowing, looking almost cat-like in the darkness of the night. A smile glimmered in them and around the corners of her mouth as David noticed the fact that her sword ate up light. "Handy, isn't it?" she commented as he went back a bit before renewing the attack. With a ringing clash, she met his slash halfway, using her full strength to push the sword all the way back and down, pushing back on it and forcing David back. Then she leapt back and waited for his next onslaught, her grey eyes looking odd in the half-light, almost as if they were widening to take in as much light as possible.

"Yes, that is a very intrasting blade you have." David replied. His blue eyes were glowing with a righteous fury along with excitement. His sword still shining in what light was being shown. It seemed like his eyes were producing it as well. Blue fire was dancing within his eyes. He came charging, but not foolishly. He knew the many abilities that his blade wielded and decided to see what reaction her dark blade would have. He had his sword lowered at his left. The tip was scrapping the ground barely. When his 4' foot blade came into range, he performed an upswing, but the sword that was now producing light now seemed to focus it instead. It's blade was now glowing with a blue light that when it met with her blade a loud clash was made.

She met his blade with a jarring clash, feeling the impact all the way up her arm. A smile came onto her face in return. Oh, how she loved that feel! Holding her sword in place and watching the blue light coming toward her blade, she finally swung it away and then leapt back again with a smile, waiting for him to come get her. Or so it seemed. As he advanced toward her, she leapt forward and let her sword fly in a deadly cut right towards his neck. One of the hardest moves to make, since it left you helpless, it was always one of the hardest to block.

David seemed helpless against the move that she was performing against him. The fact was that he almost was. He partially ducked and raised his sword to catch her blade. It didn't stop it. He withdrew his blade from hers as her attack continued to come. However, her blade didn't get that close to his neck. For in it's was was his spear that was on his back. The spear's name meant more than usual, thus the name, "Ray of Hope." David then moved his sword touching the armor ready to pierce through and hit one of her vital organs. "So what will you do now?" he asked. If he was a better warrior he might of been able to block her attack with his sword. So he had to handle it a different matter.

Kaldaka's eyes glittered as she stopped her sword inches from his neck. Leaping away from the point of his sword as she spoke, she said, "One, I just moved away from you. Two, I have a metal chain reinforced leather vest on that even your sword would find hard to pierce, I'm afraid. And three, now you're in danger!" And with that she swept her sword in an upwards slash from right to left, aiming for his left arm.

As she moved toward his, David rolled to his right moving out of the way. He got back up on his own two feet and turned to face her. He lunged at her slamming his blade against hers and moved it round and out. This caused for both of their blades to fly out of their hands. He then pulled out his spear and held it's point to her neck. "Or am I?" he replied with a smirk, "I think you underestimate me. Even with chain reinforced armor, it can still be pierced if the weapon or the user is strong enough to do so."

Kaldaka merely grinned. "I was rather hoping for a chance to use my favorite weapon!" she said cheekily. Grasping the spear shaft with one hand, she pushed it away from her and backwards, forcing David to either move backwards or stagger under the steady pressure. Then she reached back and picked up an odd weapon. It was a long staff, or at least that was what it looked like. Covered with the same metal as her sword, it had a small hollow at either end with what looked to be a connecter. Grabbing up a long knife with a curved blade, she snapped it into one end then snapped it out again. "I prefer to not use the knife," she said mischievously as she brought the staff up against his spear with tremendous force.

He took a few steps back but stepped forward again. David brought his spear to meet her staff. It was the same with his spear. It was made out of the same material as his sword. Light illuminated off of it. He pushed her back and hopped back himself. He then lunged with a straight thrust of his spear. He followed that up with an upward sweep which at the end of that he used a downward slash. He was using two hands, but if he wanted to he could use only one hand for his spear. "Well, so what do you think?" he asked Kaldaka, "Do you find me a worthy opponent?"

Kaldaka grimaced. "A worthy opponent!" Stopping for a moment, she rested a hand on her hip. "You're beyond worthy! If we fight long enough, you might end up beating me!" With that, she brought her hand off of her hip, and grasping her staff in two hands, she brought in a long sweep from right to left, heading upwards.

"The same goes for you, fair lady." David replied. He set his spear point into the ground behind the staff and used it to catapult himself beyond the staffs reach. When he hit the ground, he pulled his staff out again and went for another swing from left to right. Even though he was able to perform that attack, he was still hit by her staff earlier. It merely touched his armor but that was enough to set him slightly off balance for a period of time. Thus his last attack wasn't has good has his previous ones.

Taking advantage of the fact, she met his spear in the blow and then grasped it again, pushing it back with one hand. Pushing it back finally as hard as she could and at the same time releasing it, she placed her staff into the ready position, crouching like a panther in the night as she waited for his next attack.

Instead of stepping back with his spear, David simply twirled it. When the pointed part of the spear was coming up though he moved forward and combined it with a thrust. It was an ideal counter to what she had done. He then moved back and held his spear in a read position. The spear was surrounded by a blue aura and his eyes had blue flames dancing within them.

Her staff met David's with a crash as she held it there, firmly resisting the pressure he was putting on her staff and then bringing her staff down and around, bringing his spear with it. Panting slightly, she went into the defensive posture again.

David started breathing heavier as well, but he kept up. He went to slash from the right and when she blocked he turned around to bring a slash from the left. He twirled his spear yet again and went for a thrust that would be followed by an upward sweep.

Kaldaka leapt back from the thrust and then parried the slash. Then, using her staff with great agility, she went in for the 'kill,' knowing that if she didn't she would end of being 'killed.' Her staff became a virtual whirl of black, with a thrust, a slash, then a cut, another thrust, a cut, a slash, another slash, and another thrust.
