Drawing the Water

"Revenge is good." she said suddenly. She often had these strange understandings. THat was why it hurt her so to kill, even though she had no guilt afterwards...to kill someone thouroughly, as well as in memories, you had to understand them...and the moment you suceed to kill them, you also love them....

THat was why her kill so long ago still stayed in her mind..
THe love was too great...
But too dark....

Kaldaka looked up at the sky as the clouds blew on their windy messages. "Sometimes," she agreed softly. "But only sometimes."

Saphira looked at her in a strange way.
"Why do you say that?"

[Kaldaka/Traveller]

Turning to Saphira, Kaldaka's brow wrinkled. "Well, it's hard to explain...." she trailed off unhappily, not sure how she could tell Saphira why she knew what she knew without telling her her entire history.

Saphira noticed. "Its alright," she said quickly. She didn't want to upset the only person who didnt hate her by delging too far into her history.
"You don't have to tell. I'm sorry."

Kaldaka breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you," she said simply.

She stirred one finger in the water's edge, thinking. Then she said, almost to herself, "You know what? Everyone seems to hate me."

Kaldaka frowned and wrinkled her brow. "Well, I don't," she said, sitting down with crossed legs. "Why do you think that? It's a very negative thought."

Saphira snorted. "Well. Its true. Simply voicing opnions of some difference gets me this huge squid on my head. When I say they all, I mean it. People are forever trying to manipulate me, hex me, and you name it, they want to do it to me. I mean, they look at me and think, wow, dark, evil, lets hate her!"
Saphira stopped. Realizing she sounded childish and horribly infantile.

[Kaldaka/Traveller]

Kaldaka laughed. "I know what you mean. It's pretty much the same with me and being an assassin. People realize what I am and say, "It's an assasssin! Run for your lives! Or," and her smile became bitter, "They ignore me. Sometimes, though they don't do either of those, and then," she shrugged. "Then they attack me. And it's not fun."

Saphira continued looking at her thoughtfully.
"wel...." she paused uncertainly. Then seemed to carry on with more confidence. "I could definately understand your...situation. Its not really nice is it?"
