Nathaniel didn't even wince as she knocked into the willow. His gaze didn't even flicker. They were fixed on hers. It was a transfomation in personality that most people didn't even know existed. In times like this, he was truly, twins with his other half. Truly and absolutely identicle in everyway.
"I asked you a question. Please do me the courtesy of answering."
His voice was still calm, cold quite and dangerous.

Ari stood leaning against the willow, rubbing her arm. When she lightly touched the growing bruise on her arm, she winced visibly.
"If I do, what would you do with it?"
She was looking straight at him, not at all intimidated anymore. She figured he wasn't about to anything. Is he threatening me? She moved her foot backwards, just in case she decided to run for it.

"Think about so that I may evaluate weather too keep our aquaintance." he said flatly. "And don't run." Nathaniel slipped back into his usual, casual and pleasant character, sliding back down to sit at the base of the willow. "Come now. I'm sorry for my rashness."

Her foot immediately stopped in its tracks. Ari watched as he changed. First he threatens me, then he turns around and acts like nothing happened. Next thing I know, he'll be trying to kill me and then ask if I'm okay.
"I-I think I'll just stay here for now." she said sitting down, leaning against the tree.

Nathaniel smiled apologectically. "Sorry...if you knew my past, you would understand." that was partly true. If she knew his past, she would understand. But then, she would also be dead. But he didn't tell her that. People had the strange knack of getting scared when you tell them something like that. "I just need to know where you lernt to speak....the tongue." His eyes were fixed on hers in a pleasant, but dangerous way. He was smiling.

Ariali's guard lowered a bit when she saw he was acting normal...well, more normal. "If I knew everyone's past, I would understand everone." she muttered under her breath.
"I grew up with it. You understand what I'm saying? Ari said in elvish, surprise woven into her voice.

Nathaniel appeared rather more annoyed than observing.
"Yes. Of course I do. Have you ever heard of an elf who did not know his own language?"he replied fluently. "You grew up with it?....where?"

Her eyes narrowed. "Yes, I have heard of one." Ari said sharply.
"I was raised in the forest of Bennilyth. East of Ghealdan, and south of Arafel. And where did someone have the pleasure of raising you?"

Nathaniel looked at her strangely. As if his face didn't know how to make the appropriate expression. No one, ever, had asked for any of his past in return for him asking them. He had usually charmed or flattered it out of them. THis girl was different. Or maybe not. He smiled at last. "Well. My home town was Wisteralle. Not pronounced the way its written...even in elvish. And the english name is quite...inelegant compared to it. Don't you think so?"

"Was? Did you leave?" Ariali stopped and her face reddened. "Well, of course you left. Your here...but, you know what I mean."
She looked out across the lake, lost in thought. Wisteralle, huh? Weird..

His face remained pleasant, and indfferent. "Yes. I left when I was quite young...but I did go back. But yes. I'm here now."

Ari listened to him silently, nodding. "May I ask where Wisteralle is? I've never been outside Bennilyth. This is my first time to..." She took a deep breath and whispered the rest of her sentence. "To leave.."
