Viktor twirled the blade around a few times, grinning. He dropped his voice to a deep growl.
"You protect these children? Fool."
He gave a few easy strokes of the blade at the dagger weilder, making an easy feint here and there testing his reflexes.

"There's no time to-" Gil was interrupted by a sword seeking his neck, which he parried with both daggers and stepped back, still on the defensive. "There's no time to argue, you don't want to fight guys like this!" he said to Kane, trying to focus his attention on surviving.
"Protect them? No." said Gil, spinning away and thrusting his hand into a pouch at his side, "I'm just here to play your little game. Here's my move." With that barely out of his mouth, he flung his hand out, releasing a nasty black powder at Delacro's face: ground hotpepper. If any amount got in the man's eyes, and if he was at all human, and if that hood didn't block it, his eyes would burn with hellish intensity. Hopefully long enough for him and the two others to make their escape.
This done he sprinted past Viktor for the entrance to the ritual chamber where Kane was standing defiantly. "Move it or lose it!" he shouted, hoping his ruse had worked.

The lizard changed, in a swirl of soft black smoke into a sleek raven with bright, glittering eyes that held a flickering intelligence behind the guise that flickered like a blue tongue of fire in her eyes. The raven detached itself form the cave ceiling and perched on a small, sharp outcrop of black cave rock in hte cave wall, watching the fight in that was forming near the the cave entrance that was the soft light that glowed against the dim interior...

Viktor revulsed, but was not quick enough. The vile powder connected with his face. It burned fiercely and ellicited a roar of pure rage.
He began to swing wildly at any sound that presented itself as a target.
He tried to see through buring eyes, but all he could make out was several blobs of color running for the cave entrance.

Grabbing Kalim as he went, Gil ran full force out of the chamber, Kane leading just in front. Once they cleared the dim interior of the cave and were back out on grassy hills, he dropped Kalim and looked at Kane.
"Listen, when he recovers from that he's going to be royally pissed. I suggest you run, and don't stop until you're back in the city, then lie low for a few days until he cools off. If you leave the city again he will probably hunt you down and kill you. The same for you." he nodded to Kalim. "From what I see this guy's got some power, and who knows who might be working for him. You got yourselves into this but if you're lucky you might come out safe at the end."
"As for me, well, I think I can handle myself. I'm reporting this to the King, but the two of you have to stay incognito. Good luck, now quick, get yourselves moving!" With that, Gil was away down the slope, mind racing as fast as his legs. He'd been in stickier situations, but until he knew more about that black armored figure he wasn't going to make a move. Perhaps the higher authorities could search things out, but then again he had a few things that the higher-ups could never think of doing. Not a month in Avaren and already his life was heating up. 'This is my kind of town.' he thought, grinning and disappearing among the trees.

Saphira transformed in an instant form the black eyed raven into herself and landed neatly and sharply in front of hte girl's tracks. She smiled wolfishly. There was only one word to describe that smile. Evil. "Hello. What's the rush?"
