"I tried to save my family and my friends." Hawkes started to remember that day. The fires and all of the clashing of the swords. Hawkes tried to tear away from the images with looking at the landscape but it was starting to overpower him.

Avean took his hand and looked him deeply in the eye. "Please..I didn't mean to upset you." she said, laying her hand on his chest. Avean looked down at the scenery, hoping a 'sorry' would help but it was more than likley it wouldn't.

Hawkes quickly composed himself and looked back at Avean. "I am sorry about that. I never meant for my personal life to be pushed on you." Hawkes then led her over to a fallen tree and sat down.

"No...don't be sorry. I brought it up and I shouldn't have." she said, taking a seat beside him. Her eyes trailed over the mountains and scenery around them. Her lips curled into a smile at the sound of the birds chirping happily.

Hawkes looked out and then noticed that he was not looking at the most beautiful thing anymore when his eyes gazed over the land. He turned his head and then decided that she was the most beautiful thing he ever met. "So tell me. Is there anyone special in your life?"
