I've said this me thinks to the Admin.... but I think we need more options for our characters. I mean like servants, slaves, farmers, merchants, lords, ladies, students, whores and whatever else!
I mean as long as we don't take it overboard and SUE the hell out of everything.
I just think it could be fun to have some random characters in there ^^

I say that once a person gets to that branching path around Level 3 or Level 4 they should have the option to be whatever title they want, within bounds, and be stuck with it. Those who want to continue down the class tree can do so, but there are probably more than one who have a slightly different character in mind from the preset ones.

Agreed. Maybe things will get more interesting when a lot more people reach that branching spot. Right now everyone's characters are just being developed and it's been hard to find a place to put the prankster side of Persephone. It just doesn't seem to fit in well yet because not everythings been really established. Things are still getting the cinks worked out, but just give it a little more time. ;D

Well we could also do with alchemists, elves, outlaws, bounty hunters, blacksmiths etc. There are loads of classes missing on this site. I agree with that.

In my opinion of things is that not only do we need more classes, but some classes should be able to branch into a different class as well. For example, in the warrior class the dragoon shouldn't be limited by getting there through the spearman. The dragoon should be accessible through the swordsman as well.

Except for the fact that whores would have little to post in their "specialized" area, for it would be blatantly agaisnt site rules XD
As for other positions, I like to thinkg of the positions tree as more of a general thing. After all, if you are, say, an apprentice in magic then who is to say you aren't also, say, somebody's servant. Those positions give a general idea of what skill level you are at, and your personal title or job is really up to the individual and is expressed by how you RP.
Although, I still would like to see the skill tree expanded upon, perhaps a thread should be dedicated solely to positions people could aspire to in an expansion of a skill tree. Ideas such as alchemists, bounty hunters, blacksmiths, and merchants are probably the sort that would come into consideration ^_^

If I may place my humble opinion here.
The class system is very broad for a reason. That reason being the versatility.
The versatility is important because it allows you define your character beyond class.
I see too many people wanting to define themselves through class, thats the wrong way to go about doing that.
The person defines the class, the class doesn't define the person.
For example, Aragorn didn't say, "I'm a ranger so I have to be able to hunt, use two weapons, and shoot a bow." Aragorn would say, "Hey, I can shoot a bow, use two weapons, and hunt. I must be a ranger."
So the same goes for here. If someone wants to be an alchemist, don't bother the admin for the alchemist class. Instead, play your character as an alchemist. Have him take a scientific view of all magic and define him as an alchemist through his biography and through his posts.
We don't need a more colorful cast.
We need a more colorful fantasy.

Cool ^^ I like it!
Still, I agree with the... *thinks of word* like you can only have a whatever character after X ammounts of posts. And of course.... admin permission would be needed.
