See, the problem is, we really can't report them, for if they aren't on the skill tree or some other set up system, they aren't doing anything wrong. Of course, it might be nice to keep the dishonest guy, because he will forge solid gold armor, and the greedy dishonest people will buy from him, and solid gold armor is weaker than an empty milk jug.

LOL you have to take a path up on the skill tree if you want to be a blacksmith. So that as you move up in warrior or mage rank you move up the skill tree. You can make better stuff. You can use magic to make your stuff or something like that. Ya but I'm sure the admins will not be happy in some way or another if this goes on.

See, I fear if we allow people to create their own positions and things like that, we will end up with a large variety of positions which no one understands or what the person can do has very small limitations (like they can use magic and are skilled with a blade or something). However, if they tell the admin, the admin cna tell them sorry you can't have that position, think of a different one. Since the admin is the only one who can fill in the class and subclass spots, they would have to run their idea through the admin.

Actually, upon greater thought of this matter, I have come to a realization. I have Dungeon Mastered a lot of Dungeons and Dragons games. After reading this discussion, it reminds me of a similar one I had with a player. He wanted to be a mapmaker. I said, "Alright, that's fine by my, I'll allow you to take skill ranks in Craft(mapmaking), but you still have to pick a class." The player responded, "There isn't a Mapmaker class! What do I do?" I replied, "Use your imagination, mapmaking is only a small part of you abilities, you can focus on it, but as an aspect of your true class."
The player here wanted something that wasn't in the true bounds of what describes a Heroic character. In truth, that's what were all here to be, Heroic characters. A lone mapmaker isn't a hero, but a spy who is extensively trained in cartography and makes it his life's mission to draw maps of the whole world is. Or a mage who uses his crystal ball to see the world from many miles in the air to create perfect maps of the surrounding areas.
Using the blacksmith concept, you could be a hammer knight of the forge, like the classic DnD Dwarves, or as a mage you could be someone who toils the midnight hours looking for spells to strengthen steel and alchemy to make new alloys.
The actual trademan "path" should be reserved for NPC's or Non-Player Characters. The current shopkeeper is a good example of this. On this site, that means anyone with a white name. If you want to be a tradesman, there is no progresion and you need extra super duper special permission from the Admin himself. I generally don't think he'd allow it as he has that aspect of the game here covered.
And remember, it is a game. Which means its here to have fun. Just like any game there are rules. In checkers, you can be red or black. That's it, not green. Here you can be a mage or a warrior, but there are many generous paths within. It's up to the player to decide how to make that path special.

Yup quite right Viktor. There is a seperate colour indicating people with normal, daily life occupations. I don't think there is a problem with this site at all. Unless you talk about people who don't have rping skills.

And lots of those people we have, sadly. But the people with excellent skills make up for those who don't ^_^
