It might be easier to make each a sub board under the Citizen Housing. wouldn't make them all such run on topics. And to make sure not so many end up getting made at once, might make it where you have to earn them, get to a certain level of posting or something. Seems to work else where. Be kind when passing you're jugdements.

Maybe the quality of the house should be determined by the number of posts also. Like, if you are Rank 2, you get a little apartment or something. Rank 3, you get a house. Rank 4, larger house. Rank 5, mansion. I do agree with the idea of house subboards. It would make reading a house topic much easier.

But it would be worth it, it would make the house topics easier to read and follow instead of just one long thread. it would be more organized.

yes I agree. I was going to post a Manor but then, helo, if everyone was rich and wealthy, even if your character bio says so (for you family history) it doesnt actually work does it? So I refrained for someone to tell me what to do.

We have so many bright minds here, don't you all agree? I also wouldn't mind having a bathing spring somewhere...But where though? Just an idea, heh! ^_^

OKay, yesterday I realized before I fell asleep that Protege has no house, so I fell asleep thinking about citizen housing. I had a dream that night, about the history of the United States (I knew this, because I'm a history buff). I saw boats traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, full of settlers, food, and cattle but very little fineries and things. You couldn't bring much on a voyage. Then I see Jamestown, a small fort, with people running around near these small log cabin-ish houses. Next I see a farmer in a small home, beginning the cultivation of a tobacco farm. Then I see about 10 years later, him in a large manor overlooking a humongous tobacco farm with large amounts of slave workers, while his daughters and his wife run around in big expensive dresses and talk about how they have to go to this grand ball somewhere that only rich peolpe get to go to.
Now, I know a small bit of psycology, so I knew a special way to wake up to remember a dream and kind of chip away at the barrier between conscious and subconscious minds, to find the meaning of a dream. Lying slightly awake and thinking aobut hte dream, I finally caught on to what the meaning was.
Avaren is like the early U.S. Really, everyone here except for Ricard and maybe some of the moderators are the only people who lived here before, and everyone else came as nomads, I guess you could call them. I doubt a person would be wandering the countryside with a sack of money large enough to buy a manor, maybe enough to give them room and food at an inn and possibly enough to buy a shack if they want to settle down somewhere.
Right now, we are like Jamestown. All people really have is small homes, because they only came here recently. However, if you are like the tobacco farmer, and work hard, produce good quality goods (posts), and keep it up (with the occasional windfall of luck, or maybe a boost, or maybe you have to reach a certain point with posts and tournament wins), you get a bigger house until eventually you can be a rich snooty person with spoiled daughters running around in fancy dresses demanding you buy them more stuff and slaves doing your work. Obviously I am exaggerating a small bit on that final part of what you can get, but you get the picture.
I still believe in the sub-boards idea, for that would mean orginization of the hosues so you know when one person arrives and maybe another person arrives later (good time framing, i mean), and I believe that you should have to work to get your home, because it is unfair for you to just have ti from teh start. Find me a merchant who would spend his money on a ship for just himself and his goods. I doubt he would use a ship from a trade fleet.
So, that's my two cents. Any compliments/complaints?

For the citizen housing, i think evyerone should apply..ok. put it like this:
SUB BOARDS: Manors & Masions Houses Small Flats/apartments etc etc etc etc. things of the like..
then under those suboards, people could apply for their house or whatever and it will have another suboard: like this. eg your house is called B.L. Manor. Ok. so under Manors, there will be anothyer board called BL Manor.....so yea. But you have to register your house. I just thought it was a good idea...
