Well, nothing is perfect, this site included. Now that we are starting to swing back into the game, please tell here what changes and additions you might wish to see in the site to make Avaren even better than it is.

Umm..I just looked at the Levels, etc.. And One of my friends who brought me here, Riley, Said that it takes a long time for tournaments. I was wondering, perhaps the tournament wins could be lessened to through 10 since well, the tournaments take so long and such. I think it would be easier on everyone and make it more fun since there aren't any highers then the king and that seems alittle odd, but hey I'm new, just voicing an opinion.

Hmm, that is and idea. the other thing that Tyanno and I were thinking was maybe more interesting types of tournaments and contests. Tyanno had some idea's. I'll let him speak to you.

Ah yes thanks, Alezand. See, what about maybe a magic contest of sorts for the mages. It could be comedic in that sense, a bunch of young mage apprentices trying to out magic each other, and something backfires. Archery tournaments for those characters who carry bows. I myself add magic to my archery for extra tricks and combat effects. this variety of takes on a certain skill could be interesting to watch. For more adventurous types, like Alezand here, why not a giant maze or field test, full of dangers and tricks for the cunning warrior. I have more, but I'd like your take on this.

All of this is all very well. Hello, by the way, I'm sorry I havn't been on. But this all needs on condition in particular. That members are actually ACTIVE on this site. I don't mean to sound snobby becuase I'm one of those members, but to say the least, this site looks pretty dead to me. No posts since I've gone....I was a bit sad about that. I mean, there are alot of good rpers in here-DONT KILL ME PLEASE-but still...the rest have just..well. Drifted away.

Maybe we should come up with a site plot line or something.... such as other sites I'm on there are wars and seductions and battles really just for power.
And then if we have a plot and send it to people they may rejoin. I cant really say much cause I havent been around either.

Well, I've come back after a very long time and only to find that the tournament still hasn't come to an end. This simply tells me that the tournament round things aren't supposed to be. I mean, if ya ain't gonna finish them then why have them. I can understand the wanting of the tournaments and all, but if they aren't finished how will the next one ever start up?
This was a rather fun site and I'll admit that, but the way it kinda just fell apart and became a pile of 'blah.' If I was to start rping here I wouldn't know where to start or what to do. I can't offer much but I can be on the site at least once a day. I'll do whatever I can to help, though it ain't very much.

I agree david. It seems like everyone has vanished. I don't really think that making new plots would help the situation of the site. I still come here anyway.

Hey everybody. I'm sorry I haven't been on in a while, but that will change. So, you'll have one more active member. I like the idea of different challenges that characters have to go through. Like the maze the Tyanno was talking about.

Thank you for your support, speaking on behalk of both Tyanno and I. But I do agree that people have drifted away. But that means we need to find a way to hold the characters that we still have and at the same time, draw new blood into the fold. The plot lines we suggested could hold ones interest. But they need to move faster than and be free flowing and less heavily judged than the tourniment. I, myself and others were disappointed in how some things were handled. I also concur on the common plot idea that Duilya said, because that would new characters a direction inwhich to go, as david mentioned. Have a mystery or a quest for all people to enter. the admin could monitor the posts, and according to what the characters rping, have the admin place clues, obstacles, and other effects for that person to react to. this would make it interesting for both the admin and the character in question. that person would want to check as often as possible to see what the admin has done to effect their story. Thus the people would also not have to depend on other characters to effect their posts, as is a problem I run into. I place 6 posts and maybe get one responded to. it keeps the flow of those that are still here, and may draw new people to want to do their own story. But we'll need other ideas as to drawing people to the website. I came here on word of a friend, Rith Matou, who dosen't even come anymore because of the lack of progress. I'm still here out of loyalty and because Adrienne has been very patient with me.

Hmm thats an idea, Alezand. To elaborate more too on what I think ur trying to say is (since you and I have discussed this much). We all agree that the tourament was too too slow. By having less structured events, in becomes more about the story, how your character affects the history of Avaren, and less about winning and showing off. It would be less stressful on either side (Admin and character), And yet while one is doing a little sub quest, ie a magic festival or whatever, you still have the ongoing plot, being affected by the admin not judged, as well as ones fellow rpers to keep the site moving in a direction. mabe have a war break out from a neighboring kingdom, and see how the warriors react and the peasants view and if the mages enter the fray. It would show the diversity of each characters PERSONALITY, more so than we've seen. the feast was alright. Alezand apparently enjoyed himself, I saw (lol). And so did others I know. But add more to it. have a small event happen to a group of characters and see how they react, or if anyone ould come to their aid. Idon't know, maybe we're wasting our breath, but Alezand and I don't like to giveup so easy.

The tournament was too slow because at the beginning there was only one judge and the judge had to wait 3 days so that we didn't end up with pissed off combatants. That was what slowed it down mostly. And judges don't want to deal with crap from people. Then, the finals were not started because some combatants and the chief judge lost interest.
Plots and side plots were not created due to lack of people at times. Plus, if we create plots, then we need people to RP the antagonists, which causes the problem of people who RP antagonists using that for the gain of their own character. Also, in a completely non-planned plot, there is too much freedom for people to take control of the plot and lead it there own way, for personal gain.
As a final note, tournaments were not created in order to win or show off. It was made to prevent people who double post or post one liners or one paragraph posts (in simplicity, short posts that are really bad) from rising in the rankings too fast. Also, the tournament was a way of rewarding the hard-working RPers. And, to finish off its effects, it was to provide money and other items with less work, so that things that were made would be used soon, instead of waiting for people to gain 5 million posts so they can use the aformentioned things.

I forgot to mention this. The chief judge was planning more diverse tournaments (mage only, warrior only, people of level x ranking only, ect) and other ideas, but due to lack of interest, never made.
