Seven days. Seven days had passed since Penelope was locked in her room. The Skeletal Servitors brought her food, but he had not gone anywhere near the room. Now he was comfortably seated in his favorite chair in his den, reading a book before the fire. He didn't feel like standing up and walking all the way to her room to let her out, but he kept his word. What was a man without his word? Still, it was so nice and quiet around here this past week, much work got done.
He stood up, carefulyl marking his book. He took his time walking to his apprentice's chamber, admiring his artwork hanging in the hall's, stopping to think about this and that. Finally, he arrived at the door and took his time finding the key and saying the incantations to unlock the door.

Viktor finished removing the last seal and turned the key. The door was now unlocked.
Without so much as a second thought about unlocking the door he walked back to the den and continued his reading, it was an interesting book. Far more interesting than a defiant apprentice.

penelope sat in her chair, not knowing that door had been unlocked:
moments passed and she grew restless of the chair and walked to her bed. before reaching the bed she went to her night table and grabbed a dagger and placed it to her hair, debating wether to cut off her long flaming red hair:
she placed the dagger down and walked to the door looking at it as she had done the past 7 days. not a glimpse of hope of being released from her prison had come:
then she taught of viktor. how he was always harsh with her, never showing anycare for her.
placing her right hand on the door knob, hoping it was open. closing her eyes as she turned the doorknob. the door opened, opening her eyes. she pushed the door a little and poked her head out looking around for any signs of life.:
She stepped out and walked to the left heading for the library her sanctuary. pulling her long hair up into a net ponytail. passing his den, she didnt even bother peering in:

It didn't take long for the door to be heard opening in the hall, Viktor thought. He waited to hear the footsteps and then saw her quickly scuttle past the den. Obviously avoiding me, but I must do what must be done.
"Penelope!" Viktor called from his seat, "Come here, into the den."

Viktor remained sitting in his chair facing the fire. He was reading the same book from earlier, and didn't even look up at the girl. "I hope you understand your punishment. I also hope you understand why...why I have to consider a new apprentice."

"No, you may not be excused." Viktor said curtly, he set down his book and crossed his arms, looking sidelong at the troublesome apprentice.
"I must consider a new one, because I will not tolerate a defiant and counter-productive apprentice. If you wish to be that new apprentice, you must show me that you are worthy."

"I need an obediant and discrete apprentice, one willing to shut up and listen. One willing to learn, and not interject with whatver stupid and petty beliefs they picked up on a farm. This is a different life, if you cannot conform to it, then I will find someone that can."
Viktor's fury subsided slowly, and he sat back in his chair. He picked up his book and began reading.

"No," Viktor said again, moe sternly, "you may not."
He waved the book aside and pointed to the antimagic seal inscribed on the ceiling.
"You have to answer one question. Do you wish to remain my apprentice?"
