"Through darkness I understand the light." Kaldaka was whispering to herself as she slipped through the shadows of the forest, heading back to the Abandoned Citadel once more. "Around the corner there may wait/ A new road or a secret gate/ And though I oft have passed them by/ There will come a day when I/ Will take the hidden paths that run/ East of the moon, West of the Sun." She ended and fell silent as the Citadel came into view.
She wasn't sure exactly why she had come here, only that she knew she had something she must do here. She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the blood coursing through her veins. Fly, fly, fly, fly, it said. She lifted her arms and spun. Free, free, free! Stopping, she opened her eyes once more, looking at the Citadel, where resided all of her fear and at the same time.... her hope.

Trixice stood a little distance away, beside one of the many buildings in the citadel, her hip and boot against it's exterior. She observed through one visible copper-gold eye, the girl spinning with her arms out, as though she would lift off the ground at any moment and soar up into the heavens. Not likely.
Trix lifted the brim of her hat slightly and tilted her head, a smirk playing along her rusty-brown lips. "Somehow I don't think that will work." She called gently, a hint of a smile tugging at her features. A cropped-black fringe hid her other eye, and a skull pendant on her teeth-adorned necklace stared with an equally eerie gaze at the other female.

Kaldaka turned sharply to the woman and relaxed, seeing that the woman was not holding any weapons in her hands. "No, it won't," she said calmly. "But it's worth trying. Who are you?" She leaned against a tree, her grey eyes calmly assessing the woman as a pale light flickered in them, dangerous but subdued. She met the woman's gaze squarely, without a flinch or any expression on her face, which looked almost wooden.
