'You have got to be kidding me.' thought Gil in disbelief, blinking as the man magicked himself away. No, not magic, the thief looked to the sky and saw Augustine at an impossible height, and his eyes widened. Who was this man?! Exhaustion was beginning to fray the edges of Gilsworthy's confidence, but he shook it off. Time this right, and he would have a shot. Time it wrong, and he would be hung up to dry.
Now wait, this was no way to go about things. Shaving risks to near none turned out quite important in the life of a thief, and trying to dodge something moving that fast was quite a risk. 'Time to even things out.' thought Gil, pulling a small, hollow paper ball out of a pocket and hurling it at his feet. Instantly, a billowing cloud of thick gray smoke roiled out, obscuring everything within a few feet of the wily thief. Augustine would have no idea where to land, except for where he was headed: the center of the cloud. Moving quickly, low to the ground, Gil skittered to his saber and retrieved it, before wielding his dagger in his off-hand, the whole time never revealing his presence. Staying below the cloud kept it from billowing around him and revealing his location. It irked him to have to have used one this early in the tournament, but what was important now was winning, not preserving his battle tactics. He only prayed none of the other contestants were in the stands.

Come on! David thought as he saw the cloud of smoke appear. He slowly saw Gil disappear amongst it. He was still descending. He looked from the cloud to where his sword was. It was too bad that he couldn't move while in the air. He narrowed his eyes squinting trying to see through the smoke. His mind racing trying to figure something out.
So many idea's flooded his mind and so many wouldn't work out that great. It just didn't seem that possible. Everytime he did something drastic, the thief would return with something as well. It seemed to be an endless cycle. However, this cycle would have to end at some point. It was one or the other. Either David ran out of stamnia or Gil ran out of tricks to use. He was now close to the cloud. His spear head started to pierce through the smoke. He then started to make revolutions with his spear. It quickly quickly accelerated as he descended. He made a small cyclone around him and caused the smoke to surround him and shoot upward instead of sitting where it was at. However, this didn't help him into finding out where Gil was at.

While Augustine was still airborne, Gil slithered out of his overcoat like a snake slipping it's skin, still leaving it flapping in midair as he darted from the smoke cloud. There wasn't anything terribly important in those pockets, anyway, and this next move would require freedom of movement on his part. This was his chance to finish the match. When the thief pivoted and launched himself agilely into the air, he was out behind Augustine, who was beginning his pretty little cyclone thing.
Connecting in midair just above the ground, as the smoke cloud was dissipating, Gil struck David full in the back with both feet, all of his momentum going into the blow. He fell quickly to the ground, but rid of his cumbersome overcoat he was back on his feet in an instant. The heavily armored Augustine, compelled by laws of physics, landed not on his feet but flat on his stomach, which would surely knock the wind out of him. 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall.' thought Gil with a smirk. He moved quickly to place a knee on Augustine's back and a dagger up to the man's throat, a place the man could not escape from without the blade opening his neck like a steak.

So it is that Augustine defeated and as of such I do declare Gilsworthy the winner of this match.
