"I'm training to become an assassin." She spoke matter-of-factly, but in her voice was a hardness that spoke of long years of endurance of unearned hatred. A slight smile crossed her lips that was tinged with bitterness. "Believe me, it is a hard road. But a worthy one, despite those who see otherwise. If you should take it, I would be more than happy to help you."

Kelwindre smiled, the idea of the kind person in front of her being an assassin didn't phase her so much as suprise her, but after a moment even that feeling passed, and it didn't seem so suprising: assassins weren't cold-blooded murderers, in fact, they could prove to be quite the defender of the innocent, assuming they worked for the right causes. But, any job was like that, a knight in shining armor only did good when that mounted hero championed the innocent instead of the guilty.
"I'll keep that in mind," Kelwindre said as she finished off her ale. "But like I said, I'm still very much unsure of what I want to do." She looked up and smiled. "In any case, I'd rather just get settled first, clothes and a roof over my head first and foremost," she said, standing up as she did. "Maybe my own weapon, too," she added quietly, as though it were a fleeting dream (which, to her, it was). "So, would you like to come with me, or just point me in the direction?" Kelwindre almost instantly realised the imposing nature of her question, so she quickly rephrased it in her mind. "Don't worry if you don't want to go," she said, "I'm old enough to take care of myself."
Kelwindre, she could hear in her mind: it was the voice of the villager back home that had taught her the basics of many weapons types, and had basically taught her how to survive, Kelwindre, I know you think you're old enough to be your own person, to be strong and independent and free, but you're still a little girl...
Kelwindre looked down; even after a year away from the village, memories of her past and her childhood still brought strong emotions with them.
You're still a little girl...and moreso than that, you're my little girl- nay, the village's little girl. It was at this point that her mentor handed her a coarse leather bag with a few coins in it, the same bag and coin now attached to her hip, although she had found various, mostly illegial methods to add a few coins to it. You know I'd love nothing more than to see you to ride back into this village on a white horse and shining armor, the paladin of the people, the crusader of the innocent, but more than that even, I want to see you happy. Follow your dream, but remember that you're still a little girl, and don't give up what's left of your childhood for anything. Kelwindre remembered his hug at the end of his lecture, too. Not just that he hugged her; she remembered the emotion, the feeling, the happiness of being so loved that she was lectured on how she was still a kid, despite whatever skill she possessed.
A tear ran silently down Kelwindre's cheek, but she quickly wiped it away. "Old enough, like I said, so don't feel obligated to come with me unless you really want to. I won't be hurt if you don't, and I'm certain we'll meet again, even in this city."

Kaldaka smiled and rose to her feet. "No, I'm beginning to feel an interest in you, for whatever reason. I think I'll accompany you, if you wouldn't mind the company." Standing up, she was revealed as not being very tall, in fact, she was only about 5'2", instead of the height that one normally imagined a warrior with. "You see," she explained easily, unmindful of the fact that several people throughout the room were sizing her up, wondering why she had come in here when she normally didn't, "I've been in this city for a good three years now, and I haven't met anybody who doesn't think that my ambition to become the best assassin is interesting, but kind of questionable. You're the only person I've met who thinks of becoming one themselves. I would love to help you. It would help me as well."

"I'd love some company," Kelwindre said before turning to the door, anxious and excited to get started in the town, even if she had no clue what lay ahead.
((OOC: I guess we could start in the street, although since your leading, it may be better if you start the post, if you dont want to, though, I can))

Kaldaka smiled at Kelwindre's anxiety. "Come on then," she said softly. "Let's see, the marketplace is just around the corner, so we'll go there first." OOC: Starting thread in Marketplace. I'll put your name on it.

Finally Alezand spoke up here. "I'm master of sword tactics primarilly. I also posess skills in light archery, knife throwing and staff/blade weapon combat. I come from a legendary group of knights with out armor. The Allaine order served the people to their end. I am the last of them. I wish to rebuild them. If this interests you, I'd be happy to take part in your training." he concluded with a smile. "I help those unfortunate, no matter who or where they are, and am sworn against all that is evil in this land. I am a hunter, one could say." occ: sorry, haven't been around. was very busy.
