Selena came into the library for the first time since moving here. she went to the closest shelf of books placing her fingertips on them and walking down the row. She looked at each book. If it looked interesting she took it off the shelf and open it and flip the pages. She loved books she could barely read but she knew what they held. She past by a book that was titled Magic. "Hmmm..." She thought. "This could be interesting." She picked up the heavy old book and took it to a seat and started looking through it. She had never read a book about magic. In her old town she had worked with the town's midwife a lot with herbs and what not. She could make the basic tea with a strengthening spell and clean wounds but she hadnt learned past that. She scanned the book now looking at all the spells she could learn from it. "Perhaps i should be a mage." she always wanted to become a seer. Her mother would have premonitions about the future or past. "Perhaps i have the gift of foresight" she wispered to herself fingering her gypsy chain around her neck. She bent over the book and read more.

Persephone had been meaning to come to the Library for quite some time, but as of late she hadn't been able to get down there because of studies at the Academy. Now that she had some free time, she was taking full advantage of it in the way she had done when she'd been younger. Spending a day at the Library was her perfect day, and she couldn't think of anything else to do, especially with the cold season approaching. No, reading by a fire held more appeal than sitting in her house trying to struggle through her latest lesson from the Academy.

As Persephone's green eyes scanned the books, a few caught her attention. Some were on basic Craft, and others were Avaren. They seemed interesting enough, and the five foot girl took them over to table to read. She sat down and her long silver blonde hair flowed around her small body. As she looked up she realized another sat there.

The girl seemed pretty interested in magic, and she seemed to be deep in thought. Not that that was odd though, they were in a library after all. Still, she felt like she should say something, and that it was best to ask the other for permission to sit with her.

"Hey, I'm Persephone. Do you mind if I sit with you?"

Selena looked up from her book. She saw the pretty girl sitting with her and smiled. 'a new face' she thought to herself 'perhaps i can make a friend yet' She stood up to bow.

"Im Selena. Selena Venus. I dont mind if you sit with me. Could you help me with something? Frankly, Im terribly confused here. I dont know about anything. I went to the Town Square and i didnt know what to do. I just sat for hours watching. The i found the academy and i went in and tried to talk to people but i think i need to sign up for something. I hope i didnt screw that up. Momma said i had magic and i want to find out what i could do with it. But i need help."

She finished blushing...she talked a lot, especially when she was nervous.

Persephone smiled warmly. She'd been just as confused when she'd first came, and she understood how Selena felt. The city could be merciless and the people inside didn't come off to be the most caring. She wondered where Selena had came from, but she was too polite to ask.

"Well, yeah, if you want to learn magic, all you have to do is go into the Academy and sign up. Well, at least that's all I had to do. I'll even go with you if you want. I know how intimidating that place can be!"

*Selena felt speechless, This lady was being so sweet.*

"Thank you. I would love it if you came with me, but if you dont want to you dont need to."

((Ive already signed up but we could meet up there))

*She smiled warmly.* "Where did you come from or were you born here? I came from another kingdom about a 2 days ride from here. My family had lived there before..." *She trailed off noticing her eyes were starting to water. She wiped them hoping Persephone hadnt noticed. She looked up smiling. She was good at looking as though nothing was wrong.*

Persephone listened as Selena explained about her past. She saw tears start to slide from her friends shiny eyes, and knew that her past had been tragic. Persephone understood too well what it meant to loose your family. Her parents had been murdered when she was little, and her twin sister was in a coma. Her younger sister was ok. She'd even been adopted, which was more than Persephone could have hoped for.

Hoping to let Selena have some time to gather herself, Persephone decided it was best for her to talk.

"I grew up in a small village in the country. It wasn't in this kingdom; it's about a five day ride from the border. The name of my village was Witterlocke, and then I grew up in an orphanage with my twin and little sister."

*Selena felt silly moping about her past. Its gone and cant come back. She listened trying to get a hold on what all Persephone had been through.* "I guess we can kind of relate then. Im sorry about your parents. It must have been hard. I had them when i was young. I cant imagine life without that. Im truly sorry. I have an older brother that ran away when i was five and he was ten, I havent heard any news from him."

Persephone nodded as Selena talked about her older brother. In some odd way it reminded her of Ariadne lying in her never ending slumber. She could still see her twin, strawberry blonde hair fanned out around her, hazel eyes closed, lying on a bed. It'd been about year since her twin had fallen that way.

"My twin, she lies in an unending sleep. I guess I can understand about your brother too. I think we're a lot more a like than we though."

*Selena nodded smiling.* "It seems that way. What was your sister's name? It seems you two were close."

[Persephone DeVone]

"Her name was Ariadne. She and I weren't completly identical, but we were really close. She had beautiful strawberry blonde hair, and her eyes were a more hazel then green. We were more friends then sisters, and we hardly ever fought."

*Selena smiled* "thats wonderful....and very curious for a set of twins...I have never met a pair of twins that didnt fight at least ever few days!" *She laughed.* "Where is she now? In town or Witterlocke?"

"She's in Witterlocke. When, and if, she wakes up, she'll join me at the Academy. Before she fell asleep, she wanted to be trained as a seer since she's got the gift. So I keep hoping I'll wake up one day and she'll be on my doorstep telling me she'd coming to school with me."

Persephone smiled, almost as if she were thinking about a favorite memory. But Sephe knew it was just a dream, and no matter how much she wanted to think it would happen, chances were it wouldn't. But chances could be wrong.

*Selena knew too well how it was to have a dream and have it crushed before you.*

"Do you ever visit her? I would love to meet her one day...she sounds lovely."

[Persephone DeVone]

"Yes. I try to go down and see her every other weekend, and during the summer months I'm there once a week. I want to be there if she wakes up. And I'm sure she wouldn't mind having you come visit. Before she fell asleep she used to say that I didn't bring enough people over."

Persephone liked the idea of having Selena come with her. She wouldn't be alone then, and that would be nice. It'd been a long time since Allena, her little sister had come to see Ariadne. She was certain that things would feel better with Selena there.

Selena smiled assuringly. "I would be honored to meet your sister...When the time is right. I'll leave that up to you."

Selena knew that sometimes you just want to be alone and sometimes you didnt. She didnt know if now really was a time when she didnt, but she would be honored to go anyways! Persephone had been so friendly and Selena wanted to do anything she could to help.
