Spear Dancing

[David Augustine]

"Morning Avean." David replied to her. He parried the cut with the pointed end of his spear. He then jumped back and charged Hawkes himself. He wore a grin on his face. He always enjoyed a good spar. He thought that this one would be one of the best he had in a long time.

[Hawkes Star]

Hawkes kept his balance after the parry and spun around with his cloak following slowly after his rotation. He saw the spear head coming directly at him and slaced up with the edge of his sword. "Watched out for this one." He said menacenly. He quickly threw his hands, which was holding the hilt of his sword, towards Davids face.

[David Augustine]

David not thinking of anything else he could do to save his skin this time. He set his spear down into the ground and used it to vault himself over Hawkes. He quickly turned after landing on his own two feet. His spear still in his hands then started a rapid combination of thrusts with each targeting a different point on the body.

Hawkes quickly sheathed his sword, bent down, and picked up the bottom tips of his cloak. When David started to thurst Hawkes started to twirl. With his cloak in his hands the started to capture the spear within it and soon, unless you had a trained eye, you lost site of the spear all together. "Nice trick. See if you can keep up with this one."

As Hawkes was making David's spear dissappear, he was able to follow it but decided to play along with it. He drew nearer as his spear started to vanish and once he was close enough, he let go of the spear and made a roll past Hawkes. When he stood and turned to face his opponent once more, David was now weilding Hawkes' sword. He grinned and replied, "I'd say I did a decent job at keeping up with it."

Hawkes turned around and a grin appeared upon his face. "Yes you did David. Good job. One thing is though I am the only one that knows how to use that sword." Hawkes then preceded to reach behind his back, diagionaly, and unsheathed another, sightly smaller, sword. "Lets see if you can weild it like I can. Also, always carry atleast two swords when fighting and or traveling." Hawkes smirked then entered into another aggressive position.

Hawke's sword felt similar to his own. Light and not very strong unless it was handled correctly. It was still slightly different and would take some time for him to get used to it. David gribbed it with two hands. "I have my own sword at my side, but seeing how you made my spear 'vanish' I decided to take use yours instead." David then ran towards Hawkes. He held his opponent's sword in a beginners position and would normally be thought as a mistake.

Hawkes stood up when David started to rush him and yawned. He knew that he could never be hit by his own sword because he was one with his sword. The other reason he could not be hit was because he never every inch of his sword and he was wearing his combat gloves. "Hit me if you dare David."

[David Augustine]

David rose Hawkes' sword and suddenly threw it into the ground before him. He stepped on the hilt and jumped high into the air. The angle at which he was position was in the suns light and for a moment he couldn't be seen. Then as he started to come back down. He had his spear again in his own hands. It's sharpened point aiming down toward Hawkes.

[Avean Luxenbourg]

Avean chuckled as they sparred. She laid down on the concrete ledge, her hair flowing off the end. All she could do was smile as Hawkes and David fought harder and harder.

Hawkes lost David in the sun but quickly regained him when he started to come down at him. Hawkes the spear and pulled down on it. He then released it and rolled over to his other sword which he put in his right and the other was tightly in his left. He spun them quickly and then said..."You do have skill. Where did you study?"

[David Augustine]

His spear sunk into the ground. He pulled it out and jumped back. He positioned his spear in a readied state. He opened his eyes and focused on him. "I studied mostly by myself, but I've learned from dragoon masters." David replied, "And you were have you studied from?" His breathes were deep and long. His last move took quite a bit out of him, but would have regained it back in a few minutes.

[Hawkes Star]

"I learned from ancient warriors in a town that does not live. I studied by myself for awhile and my brother helped with my strengthening." Hawkes felt a single bead of sweat come down his face but it meant nothing. He did not take this oppertunity to relax but he took it to attack. He knew that it had to take some energy to do that. Hawkes started to spin on his side with his swords making sparks fly from the ground.

[David Augustine]

David didn't sit still. He charged righ into it. When he got close enough, he used his spear to hit the blades of his swords as they came by to attempt to throw him off. He then began a series of slashes. They were swift and graceful. Starting from the upper right going towards the lower left, then toward the mid right, upper left, lower right, mid left, lower left, upper left, lower right, lower left, and etc. It was complete randomness so that his opponent couldn't detect a pattern.

Hawkes attack was thrown off befor but never like this. He was totally flung back and put off balance. He quickly regained it though just in time to see the start of Davids attack. "Little did you know David. Randomness does have a pattern." Hawkes then closed his eyes and started dipping and side stepping. He started to move closer to David as he kept it up.
