“If you ever work out the shape shifting, you’ll have to show me” Duilya smiled the thought of seeing anyone changing into an animal would be interesting yet it did arise some questions about birds and animal and any creature that could be around to see her bathing or anything similar, she would have to double check her room in the future. (("Still, you are very good at your art.")) She looked around till finally in the corner of her eyes she noticed the moving of books. And the familiar figure of Nathaniel. She grinned as shrugging. “Thank you, maybe I’ll make this into an art as well” Duilya shrugged as looking back at the book. “Why don’t you join us, this is Rith” She introduced as looking back at Rith realizing that he must have been studying to and might not want to much noise. “That is if you don’t mind?”

"Oh not at all, come and have a seat. And thank you for the compliment by the way." He stated with a smile, gesturing to an open chair invitingly. Rith would never pass an oppurtunity to meet someone new, and since he came to Avaren plenty of said oppurtunities have presented themselves. There was always more time for a mage to study, but of course. Besides, if he was so adamant about studying then he would not have introduced himself to Duilya in the first place.
"Well, since Duilya here has introduced myself for me, what be your name friend?" He asked after waiting for him to get settled. In the meantime, he scooped his Puffer back up into his hand and returned it home inside his Bag of Tricks.

He sat, smiling pleasantly. "Nathaniel," he replyed, casually. (ooc: lets just say I didn't introduce myself earlier on shall we?) He looked at the bag and raised an eyebrow. "Do you carry that around whever you go?" he asked curiously, "Or do you conjure one up when one pleases?" he really had no idea, having not even used a puffer before. He was more of an illusionist as such. But then again, he wasn't really good at that either. He really envied someone wth talent.

" Oh yes, at all times. Not so much for utility as this pouch used to belong to my Master, and the only father I really knew. A 'Bag of Tricks' as he dubbed it." He replied clutching the pouch in his hand, looking down at it, his head flooding with fond memories.

"Oh..." he looked at the bag, studying it. It lookd pretty ordinary to him. Mybe that was its purpose. He supposed it wouldnt do for it to be stolen... "Well. You certainly have talent for what you do."

"Again, I thank you. And I am certain you will become a grand mage as well, both of you. I just hope you can find a mentor who will nuture and help your powers grow, like I had." Rith stated, returning his gaze to the two apprentices. Youth certainly came with endless opportunities and potential.l

Nathaneil glared at his feet in an angry way. Then the expressino evaporated off his feet. He looked at Rith. "Just a question.." he said cautiously, "Can you summon somehting thats...dead?"

A look of disgust appeared on Duilya’s face at the thought of summoning the dead… it just isn’t natural. She had been staying out of the conversation for a little while now content with reading one of the books and jotting down some potions for experiments later on. But the question she had heard Nathaniel ask made her gaze up in interest and curiosity at what Nathaniel’s interest in the dead would be if anything.
((ooc: I know its not much but I thought I had to show she was still there,))

"Necromancy?" Rith queried arching his brow in suprise. At this point Rith was at a bit of an emotional crossroads. He shared Duilya's dislike of the craft of magic which defied Nature's methods. Yet, on the other hand, to frown upon the Apprentice's aspirations so might hinder is drive to persue a craft of his own. Rith took a moment to prepare what he wanted to say properly. Taking a deep breath, Rith began. " Nathaniel, I know the death of a loved one can make your heart hurt alot for a long time and sometimes we can wish that we could just make them come back, but acting upon those desires is not the way to deal with the pain."

Nathaniel's face went pale and oddly gaunt with inner anger. It flared like some white flame in the depths of his eyes. What had turned out to be an 'innocent' question had turned out rather differently. He must control himself. He must control his features. He must not show emotion. He must keep his composure. He must not look like a child.
"No. I did not apply that question to a 'loved one'." his tone was pleasant, though his face was still in the process of calming down and regaining colour. "So please. Do not think i'm a young, foolish, grief striken child." He smiled. Though there was no joy in the expression. However, his face had returned to normal. He must work on his composure. It was letting him down. "When the puffer was able to sufficently summon an animal of your choice, that is in existant, be it far or near depending on your abilities-one's abilities," he added quickly so not as to seem rude. The fire still flickered, like the low embers upon a dying flame-or a dying soul. "I just wondered...if it could summon other things that are....ah..less animate, shall we say."

Rith's eyes flared in suprise again, he felt mortified for assuming about a newly met person's character. "I-I apologize Nathaniel... It clearly wasn't my place to remark on the situation the way I did, whether my assumption was correct or not. I feel terrible, really I do." Rith replied, running a hand through his auburn to the back of his head where he rubbed it embarrassed.
Sighing heavily he hunched over and looking back up to Nathaniel and continued "To answer your question...it's theoretically possible to...conjure inanimate animals...with a Puffer..."

"Its alright." he said, carelessly.
Then Nathaniel's eyes lit up, compeletly back to normal. "Really? Can you show me? Summon lets say..." he thought about it. Inanimate animals. What he meant was dead animals. Summon them but they still remain dead. Sort of. But outloud, he said-"Well. Since animals that don't move are pretty rare...lets say...a dead falcon. That's dead. As in...it stays that way."

Rith winced at each mention of a dead animal, the thought left a bad taste in his mouth. He seemed really adamant about wanting to conjure dead animals for one reason or another. "I can teach you how to summon Nathaniel, but I would like to know why you would want to have an extinguished falcon first." He bargained as he straightened himself back up against the back of the chair. The only reason he could think of is he required it as a component for a spell, but he would like to know for sure why, rather than make an assumption on him again.

Duilya looked up once more from her books, a little relaxed that Nathaniel wasn’t about to raise a army of the dead, not that she seriously thought that in the first place, it was more of a creative twist. Smiling once more she looked at Rith again. “Could you teach me how to create a falcon or a wolf, I’ve never seen then as the ferocious beasts they were made out to be…. Oh but it would be of the alive variety” She asked slightly excited at the idea of being able to create some company for herself if she was alone… she could also do the easy way and that was buying a puppy yet this would be more interesting in the end.

Nathaniel thought about the answer. "Let us say that there is a war. Or something that consists of murder. You need to kill someone. You do that, by other means other than magic, your strand of magic, whatever. THe point is, the...ah...evidence can no be found. By anyone, or anything." he raised one eyebrow. "See what I mean? You summon that body to you, which, if there is any common sense involved, will be thousands of leagues away. Anyway, you summon that body, and you destroy it, hide it etc. It can not be found. You can not be blamed." he paused, a smile flickering over his face. "Well, it doesn't have to be a dead falcon as such. A dead worm, even, if you want to."
