Selena frowned as the carriage pulled away. 'It was as they were frightened of me!' she thought, angrily. And they had every reason to. As a young child, she had found her ability to conjure spheres of moonlight, and to enchant animals to come to her. Her mother was where she inherited these powers from, and no doubt did her father regret it.
At first glance, Selena appeared to be of Oriental birth; but this was only half true. Her father was the French lord. When he found out about her mystical powers, the whole household was alerted. And every were terribly afraid. There were witches in the forest around there home, and they constantly were rampaging their home. The servants could only guess when Selena would be turned to the "Witches Realm."
Apparently none knew her mother was a witch. A full marked summoner, as a matter of fact. Selena took lessons with her mother, but her father wasn't content. He wanted to get "rid of this witch girl, once and for all!" So, when he heard of the Magic Academy in Avaren; quick as that, he sent her to it.
She knew here, she would have to start on space number one; an apprentice. Sighing, she lifted her suitcase a few inches and walked towards the door.
She bid the door open, and she brought a breeze in with her. The gust loosened her hair from its bun, and it fell in waves down her back. Buttoning up her Chinese embroidered silk coat, she walked briskly into the doors and closed the door.
She frowned a bit as she saw a small glow of blue light from the end of the hall. She squinted at it as it took form . . .
