Duilya stared at the magic school so in traced by this large building that she barely even noticed the rain pouring down around her, she didn’t even try to place her hood over her head as her long dark hair dripped, her dress mud stained at the bottom and her face extra pale from the cold breeze yet none of these things mattered. “So this was the magic school which caused mother to leave her country” she whispered still watching and wondering what was it that had caused her mother to leave everyone she knew to start a new life… with that guilt crept in it had been the pregnancy with her that had caused her mother to give up her dreams. She started to make her way up the stairs when she paused suddenly aware about her appearance and more than a little apprehensive of the thought that they may kick her out. She had always been a timid girl, shy to the point where some people took it, as snobbery yet being a farm girl there wasn’t anything to be snobby about. So instead of entering she sat quietly with a small parchment and a quill and sketched largely from memory the buildings shades and shapes, she could remember every cranny within the bricks and recreate it on paper. Drawing had been a pass time often at the farm drawing of the trees, animals and almost anything around her. As shading in the roof and tiles she quietly began to sing.

THe soft sound of the clit clotting of hoof steps came within earshot of the gates as Nathaniel rode through the wide stone worked pathways to the Acedemy. He had been away for a shot two nights and was in a good and pleasant mood. The usual mood he was in at any rate. So upon hearing the sound of a light singing voice upong the wind the halted his steed. Pulling out fomr his belt a thin silver flute, he began to harmonise to the beautiful voice, softly at first then to a gently crescendo.

The rest of the world just didn’t exist in this period of time. It was only her and her drawing, she could hear a flute in tune with her voice but she just for a moment believed it was her imagination and she was dreaming. But upon pausing with the sketch to make sure that she hadn’t missed a detail… she couldn’t help but be a little pedantic when it came to her sketches everything had to be perfect She realized that the lute was still there… a little uneasy now as gazing around to find where the flute was coming from she continued singing a little lower shy that someone had caught her. Sitting back down to just fill in the small details she continued to stay aware wondering she had worked out that the sound had been coming from the pathway that lead to the academy so kept her eyes darting back and forward from picture to pathway and back again.

Nathaniel noticed the softening of the voice, as if one was not too sure if singing was allowed. He quickened his flute notes to something similar to an irish jig, the tune brightening like the leaves of a sudden summer, at the same time, riding into view, his steed's hoof sounds once more echoed around the pebbled path ways.

Duilya’s eyes glittered with curiosity as the tune morphed into a much more cheerful and lively jig, all her previous embarrassment and held back demeanor left as she happily placed the parchment back into her bag. Standing and starting to dance in the way her father had taught her during one of his drunken fits as she was a child and this time she allowed her voice to ring out clearly the first song she remembered. “Every person in the nation Or of great or humble station Holds in highest estimation Piping Tim of Galway Loudly he can play or low He can move you fast or slow Touch your hearts or stir your toe Piping Tim of Galway” She sang trying to make sure she continued in tune. ((occ: the song is The Galway Piper (Piping Tim) by. John Renfro Davis the web site is www.contemplator.com/ireland/galpipr.html if want to hear it but I’m sure it’s the sort you were thinking of.)) As she saw the young man on his horse, a flute noticeable to his lips, she couldn’t help but laugh with joy. “So you are the one distracting my drawing, you should be ashamed of yourself” she teased as curtsying mockingly. Usually she wouldn’t act like this but for one she didn’t care what others would think of her at the moment she was free to be who she wanted to be.

Nathaniel stopped beside her. He also stopped playing. "Right you are miss. Where did you learn such a fine art of dancing such as yours?" Flattery came to him as easy as the wind. "It would shame an angel's footsteps."

Duilya raised an eyebrow and watched with an amused glint in her eyes. “I bet you say that to all the girls, unfortunately for you this angel is past your reach” she teased, as still dancing around as if the music was still going. “But I will allow you to talk to me, for it gets quite lonely in heaven” she smiled. “So Nathaniel what brings you here?” she asked as she had recognized him from the lake earlier, she even had a picture that she had drawn, despite the fact she doubt he had seen her.

"hmm..." he said with equal humour. "Then I must find some other angel.."he raised his eyebrows pleasantly. "Or go to hell and search for someone there?" His horse tossed its head, as if impatient. Nathaniel glanced at it, flicking its ear playfully. "Wait you little donkey," at which it returned his glare. He laughed inwardly, and once again, no laughter escaped his lips.
"How are you faring miss? Are you entering the Academy as well?" He slid off horse back then, remebering it rude to led the lady tilt her head to speak.

Duilya shrugged. “Well I have heard that those from hell are more interesting” She said pretending to think about it. “I’m well thank you… yes I do believe I will join the academy, such a beautiful building, my mother had a dream of studying here, I can see why, I’m slightly worried they’ll turn me away” She smiled shyly as playing with her fingers in a nervous way. “So are you from the academy?” Duilya asked noticing how impatient the horse looked she moved forward to touch it before pausing and blushing. “It wont bite will it?”

Nathaniel laughed quickly. "No ofcrouse not. It is as intelligent as you or I." becuase its elvish. Like me. I'll always be different...but he did not let this melancholy thought shine through his always pleasant expressions. "But no miss. I am not from the acedemy. I am here to...visit my sister as it happens."

Duilya smiled as moving forward again, the fur was so smooth and soft. . “What is your sister’s name? If she is anything like you I should like to met her” She still had her eyes firmly on the horse still unable to think that such a creature existent, she new their was horses which she usually like to stay away from but this one seem different. “Oh, I’ve been rude, the name is Duilya… you really do have a enchanting friend” she said almost in a whisper.

"Hmm." he didn't reply for a split second then continued. "Well. Her name is Saphira. And no. i doubt if you would want to meet her...she isn't exactly sociable...well. Put it this way. She delights in insulting people..." he laughed with dry humour. "She's my twin actually. Though we are nothing alike in personality."

((occ: Sorry this is also very short but kind of didn’t know what to write))
“I’m sure she can’t be that bad” Duilya mentioned as looking back a little unsure. It seemed there wasn’t anything to say to that comment and she stood a little uneasy. “How long will you be visiting for?”

Duilya looked up at the big doors, she had wanted to go inside but at the same time was hesitant, looking back at the friendly elven face, she had noticed but it didn’t seem to bother her, her mother had been a foreigner and so looked different from others and so she was taught at an early age never judge a book from its cover. “It’s better than making a fool of myself out here, I’m better off seeing what its like to learn magic… I mean I know a few simple ones but they are kind of household things, locking, unlocking… my father was a little…” she hesitated for a moment. “he was ill and was it was often for his own good that I put him to sleep” As stepping in a strong aroma feeling the air it was as if a mixture of herbs and spices, that made Duilya relax. “What about your horse? Will she be alright to find the stable?” Duilya asked looking back.
