Saphira swung upsidedown on a high branch, rather aimlessly. Nathaniel had failed to turn up. Hardly a week had gone by, since their reuinion and her own brother hadn't bothered to turn up. She kept her face clear of emotion however. But her eyes were bright with innocent hurt. Underneath her shell of cold superiority, she was only a young girl. Abandoned. And alone. She was drowing in the black, enless abyss thatwas her mind.

Over and over again, Trixice flicked the dyed-purple feather hanging without weight from the left side of the curve of her hat. Watching it float down slowly and bounce on air currents reminded her of the bird it had come from, and finally, she stopped flicking it, and instead sank her hand into her deep cloak pocket; just like other one.
Her head was down, the bulk of her hat leaning forward to shield her face from view as she strolled quietly through the dark forest, having no particular aim as to where she may end up. Sighing contentedly, she jerked her head up to flick a chunk of black hair from her eyes, when she spotted the young lady she had met before a few times.
Slowing her pace, Trixice let her boots crunch the leaves on the ground, to allow the girl knowledge that someone was approaching. Glancing up through that gold iris, she stopped a meter away from underneath the girl and took the edge of her hat in her fingers, giving it a dip in greeting.

Saphira looked up. Or rather, down from her branch. She swung up then down, landing on her feet gracefully. Her dark green cloak swirled around her ankles. "Hello."

"Evenin'." Came the short but concise reply as Trixice let go of her hat and jerked her head to the side, flicking her cropped fringe from her features. For a moment the woman merely stared, wondering if the girl would break down, spill a secret, cry, or even try to open herself up without leaving her company to find the key to that lock.
It was a gifted ability, to see through the eyes of some, and Trixice had come to do so quite well. The girl's eyes were indeed innocent, pretty with a glitter that told Trixice she was hurting somewhere deep inside. Though it wasn't the woman's place to pry, and so she asked an indirect question, pondering whether the girl would answer it truthfully.
"How are you?"

Saphira did not hesistate. She hardly never did. She had only bee speechless 3 times since she reached the age of 6. "As I have been always. Though a bit happier."

Trixice let her knees buckle and suddenly she was sitting cross-legged on the ground, her cloak frayed out around her and her hat still snug on her head. Her elbows rested solidly on her knees, and on her knuckles rested her curve of a chin. She had her eyes closed, though she could not be seen from a standing figure over the brim of her hat.
"I think you lie." She said softly.

Saphira didn't speak for a moment. No one ever doubted her answers! Never! There was only one person who ever realy knew what was going on in her head, and that was her brother, a twin, which doesn't count. And even then, he only knew, rarely. Saphira looked hard at the top of the women's hat, calculating quickly. To admit, or not to admit? She chose the middle. "And you say that becuase?"

To delve into detail would have been strenuous, but to give a short answer would have seemed unworthy. Trixice sat still for a good few moments, asking herself the same question as an echo in her mind. Was it her right to dip into the corners of this mage's mind? Surely not. Although, that had never stopped her before, and she did enjoy assisting people with their problems - chiefly because she never had any of her own.
"I have spent many, many years watching people." She began, keeping her hat precisely positioned so her face was not visible. "I have based a lot of my knowledge on the way an eye reflects someone's soul. In doing this, I learn to understand when someone is afraid, or perhaps lying, and I do my best to verbally tease that out of them." Now she shifted her chin to her other hand's knuckles, but her hat remained where it was.
"Some people never wish to spill, and that is quite reasonable. I do however, have an uncanny effect on those who do. They always find me again, and I consider them far better aquainted with me than the ones who don't choose to spill." She hushed herself, concluding that pehaps this was turning into ramble. "It's an eye for an eye you see." She punned, now raising her chin to spot the mage through that copper eye with a joker's smirk.
"So that is why I say it." She explained, lowering her eye and becoming unseen under the hat once more. "Do not think of me as stupid. I am far more aware of things than some people like to assume..." She whispered the last, leaving a firm stand of silence that most certainly made it's point.

Saphira looked at her in admiration, making a mental note to wear a hat like hers often. It gave her a sophisticated effect not to say more. She smiled very dryly. "So you know all about me, I assume, by what my expression brings." she paused, thinking. "Alright then. Answer this. What would I value most, wealth or magic?"

"Magic." Came her immediate answer.
"Looking at you, one would surely say wealth, however I believe your heart values magic far more honestly." Locking her fingers with each other, she filed them back against each other slowly, cracking her knuckles until they all wiggled freely in their sockets. Sliding them between each other again and laying her chin on their upper sides, Trix chuckled before shaking her head loosely.
"No, I do not know all about you. You keep your expression quite unreadable, and all I said was that I have an inkling as to whether you are lying about how you feel or not." She explained openly, moving her elbows deeper into her knees. Her back was now in a clean arch forward and her hat bobbed as she spoke; her chin remaining in place on her hands and thus causing the rest of her head to rise and fall.
"Am I correct?" She asked gently, referring to the question of wealth or magic.

Saphira nodded very slowly, not trusting herself to speak at all. The wind blew coldly around their ankles, snaking around the tree roots like serpents admist rocks and dark entrances of caves.... She wanted to ask a question that was on her tip of tongue but decided to think eveyrthing over very carefully beofre even opening her traitorous mouth.

Trixice was silent also, but she saw the other mage nod as she glanced up briefly - half wondering if she had scared her away. Smiling a distant and rather hesitated smile, Trix dropped her chin onto her hands again and sighed a long sigh, pondering whether to think up another point of conversation or not. She was completely unaware that the girl wished to ask something...
