Welcome, guest, to the Kingdom of Avaren.
For those new to the idea of online roleplaying, the main idea of this site is to create a 'character' on this site with which you then role-play on the various boards. For starters, come up with a general idea you have for a character, register your account, and then post on the boards as if you were writing a story, in third person past tense.
Note that when creating a new character, you should PM myself to ask for your position to be changed to whatever available position you desire before you go off posting. Position list may be found here: avaren.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=positions
-Creativity-
All characters on Avaren must be original. You may use the names of people from other sources (ex. Japanime, video games, motion pictures, comic books, regular books, etc.) but the character's personality and history itself must be original. It cannot actually be the character from the other source. Especially when it does not fit in with the skeleton we have created here. If you violate this rule, the username of the character will be banned, and you must create a new character.

God RP-ing is when you write other people's characters in your posts; you are not allowed to give other characters actions and thoughts, only that character's rightful owner is allowed to do that, unless, of course, you have been given their previous permission to do so.
Also remember that there is no killing characters without the owner's mutual consent, unless under certain circumstances in which they are clearly attempting to abuse this rule. Furthermore, I would ask for roleplayers to keep any sexual content in check. It should be obvious what would be deemed inappropriate or not, although moderators will make sure this is kept in check.
I think that just about cover the basic rules of roleplaying, although if I left something out feel free to tell me. If not, go ahead and have fun.
