The setting is in a fantasy world known simply as 'The World'. The time is medieval, but there is a slight modern touch to it. There are no modern weapons such as guns and the only means of travel is either magical means or primitive ships(airships included).
There are several main races that reside in 'The World'. Each has its largest populations gathered in certain areas throughout 'The World' (found in the Home section). Very little mingling of the different races occurs in these areas, though it is not entirely uncommon. Most interaction occurs elsewhere in 'The World', an example being the well known Polaris City. You are encouraged to interact with characters of different races here in any way you choose.
Here are the different races and what their distinguishing characteristics are:
Dragoons(if anyone has ever played Legend of Dragoon, these chars are based off of the dragoons in that game)- A being who has formed a spiritual bond with an ancient dragon spirit. The spirit endows its host with a magical armor and the powers of its element. Dragoons are capable of flight by means of magical wings(a simple spell they can cast), and they often call upon their dragon spirit for advice and assistance in times of great need. The dragoons have a severe mistrust of the griffon riders.
Griffon Riders- A small band of beings who have bonded with the legendary half-lion, half-eagle griffon. The bond between rider and griffon is unbreakable, and each shall remain by one another's side till death. Griffons are masters of the skies and they are not to be underestimated. The city where the Griffon riders reside is one of the few places where the mysterious thran crystals are found. These crystals not only are excellent magic channelers, but they allow the rider to speak with their griffon (every rider has a crystal absorbed into their body upon the day of their initiation).
Anthromorphs- A diverse race that can be divided into several subgroups, these beings are crosses between human and animal. They can be anything from werewolves to werecats. Anthros commonly have the shape of a human, but with animal characteristics(a tail, pointed ears, etc). Anthros are very close to nature and many have the abilty to transform themselves into a fuller animal form (ex: a werewolf can become a wolf).
Shinobi- A mysterious group of beings, these are mostly humans who have dissapeared from the eyes of the commoner. Shinobis, or ninjas, are very skilled warriors who have trained for most of their lives. What makes them unique from other humans is that they have mastered a form of magic known as 'jutsu'. There are many different forms of jutsu, and each shinobi seems to possess a unique talent.
Humans- Perhaps the most diverse of all the races, the humans can be anywhere from the average joe to a magic-wielding paladin. One thing classifies the human, his or her mortality.
