However, things are not as peaceful as they seem. There are various guilds each fighting for more power. The Azorius Senate are the law makers of Ravnica and keep everything under their control. The Orzhov Sydnicate represents the religion of Ravnica, but are heavily involved with the economy as well. House Dimir is a guild of mystery and horror of the most things that are unthinkable. The Izzet League are the creators and master minds of the city, they create various spells and control the water works. The Cult of the Rakdos are blood thirsty and have rituals that involve death to their demon leader. The Golgari Swarm use their own dead to their advantage as they out grow the rest of the guilds in number. The Gruul Clans is a guild that was once one of the greatest, but now wreak havok on Ravnica destroying everything that civilization stands for. The Boros Legion are known for their military might and their tactical expertese, they also serve as the law enforcement of Ravnica. The Selesnya Conclave believe that there is always a peaceful way around trouble however they are not afraid to throw some muscle around. And lastly the Simic Combine are the ones responsible for Ravnica's current wildlife which happen to be creations of their own they are as advanced as the Izzet when it comes to science.
