Keep me, Protect me, NEVER betray me...

[Evee~Natalia]

Evee, a young peasant girl wanting nothing more but to move up in the world. She didn't want to be looked at as a useless peasant girl all her life. She had hopes of becoming a mage someday as did her mother and her father before they died. Now that she was orphaned and had nothing but herself, she would live out her parents mage legacy.

It was a calm and quiet day today. The sun warmed the earth just right and smiling children warmed Evee's heart as she passed by them on her way to the Tavern. Evee wore a long, light-brown robe with her white dress her mother made for her just before her passing. Her authentic cotton shoes warmed and comforted her delicate sun-kissed feet as she walked.

Evee kept her faint smile as she came to the Tavern doors, it was never a full smile. Evee wondered who she'd see in the Tavern today, usually old friends or friends of her parents. The majority of the time, she saw no one so she would have a cup of warm honey milk to lift her spirits.

Evee pushed open the Tavern door and walked inside. She looked around the place as she walked toward the bar, the older men were oggling her as usual. She made a disgusted look at them and sat at the bar, facing the bartender. Today was a good day, but not a normal one. Evee had been wondering if the rumors about a young man her mother had mentioned to her were true.

The young man was said to be Evee's chosen husband, But after her parents died...He disappeared. Evee pondered on the fact that the whole thing sounded suspicious. Evee wanted to set out on a journey to find this man and see if he might have killed her parents, even though she was told their deaths were by accident.

Maril walked into the tavern to get a drink. The18 year old boy walked in and looked around. He had just been at the warrior barracks after a tiring day. He was practicing with his priced weapon, a mace but he also had a longsword. Strength and skill were good enough to describe this well built man. He saw some old men looking with interest at a young girl about his age. He pointed his mace at them and they walked out of the tavern. He wasn't going to allow such a young girl to be used in such a way. He looked at the girl. And then he remembered her. He didn't know her name but he had always liked her. He had never talked to her but there was something about her that enchanted him. he walked towards her and said,"Hello. May I sit here? I'm Maril Mazmo of the Morytanians."

Evee was suprised despite the event that just happened. A young man about my age, with authority and power...He also has looks nearly as flawless as mine...

Evee thought to herself. She was studying the young man's face and every precise feature, She started feeling a strange connection to him. Like, maybe she's met him before. Whoever he was, she was interested in him and how much of a coincidence it was that they came across each other's path on this beautiful day.

Evee had her beliefs, good one's. One of her favorites were 'Everyone is connected, and if the two of those people feel that bond they are soulmates.' Another one that she has is 'Enemies can sense each other's aura and will eventually trot on each other's past and intertwine souls in a whole spirtual battle, not even in their knowledge'

"Hi, I'm Evee Natalia. Daughter of Rose Natalie and Oracio yomui of nefaria." She smiles feeling a bit embarrassed for the big introduction. "Please, sit down." Her gentle smile gracefully floated on her lips as she looked into the young boy's eyes.

Maril sat down quickly. He was tired after fighting at the warrior barracks. It had been tiring and he really need some rest. He looked exhausted but tried to keep his spirits up but he was too tired.

But when he had seen the girl, there was something about her. He thought that he had seen her near the dark forest one day when he got lost in the forest. Or someone who looked like her, but since they were many years ago maybe he wasn't quite right because it happened about 10 years ago.

He saw her smile at him. "Thanks. Nice to meet you good lady,"said Marim with a bow, as he sat down in his chair,"I have come to Avaren mostly on my brother's destiny. He has found out who my parent's murderer was........aye, its a sad story. Delacro's his name. He killed many. So what are you doing in Avaren in these times of trouble, good lady."

Evee felt a sense of compassion that his prents had also been murdered, was there a serial killer in Avaren? Or maybe there are two different people murdering others?

In any case, Evee was happy that she met a nice spirited man. She replies with a smile "It is lovely being in the company of you kind sir. I'm merely here to relax after a long day of doing yard work and food finding. Hunting can be tiring aye?"

Evee's sprit warmed so boldly and her heart pounded with a passion. 'Such a nice man' She thought, 'Charming too, I have to wonder why this Maril and I met today' Still she felt that she should be on guard at all times, just in case this is the man who her parents chose to marry her to. She thought 'This is too ironic that his parents we're murdered like mine, and here we are carrying on a conversation...I must know more.'

At the same time, she was astonished by the young man's intrest in her and was strangely becoming interested in him. In more ways than one. Out of curiousity, she let a crazy question fall out of her mouth. "Don't mind me asking good sir, but did your parents arrange a mariage for you when you were younger?"

If his answer was yes, that means he is indeed the one she is destined to marry. For her parents chose a groom for her when she was six, a year before they were murded. Only to assure that she wouldn't be alone, and unprotected. If his answer was no, then this was merely a coincidence. But what would she do if he said "yes" ?

Maril wondered about the question that was put forward to him. He knew this could never happen to his brother, as in his family customs the eldest would never get a chosen soulmate. But about himself he had no idea. He had been too young.

His brother knew most of those things so he said,"I have no idea, sorry. It must be my brother who knows about it if there was an arrangement. I was just 5 when my parents died so I don't have much of an idea. My brother was a year older so I suppose he knows something about it."

It was a strange question either way. How could he be the one? The answer to this question was still buzzing about in his mind. He wondered why.

Evee didn't know how to react to his answer, all she'd was look away from him keeping her facial expression blank. " Forget that, sorry I asked. It was merely somthing my mother mentioned shortly before she was killed...."

Evee didn't care too much if it was true, she'd love to have such a great guy for a husband. But why would her mother do such a thing before Evee was to young to understand this? She lifted her cup to her lips and took a small sip of her warm honey milk. She looked back at Maril and felt some sort of guilt. "I'm truly sorry that I brought up such things, I just...There's this feeling like I..." She stopped in mid sentence then looked away from him again.

She fel she was making all the wrong approaches. Her eyes became empty with no emotion and she was thinking of getting up and leaving the Tavern right then and there. That wouldn't really be too nice if she did it though so she sat there for a moment thinking what she should say next to clean things up again.

Maril looked upset when he saw Evee look away from him. Maybe something was not right for her. Maybe she was having her own problems.

He broke the silence by saying,"Its ok. I mean it must be something important to you I guess. I have things that are come first in my life and so does everyone." He hoped she would cheer up. He liked her. He didn't know why but there was something about her. But then it seems there was a prophecy about her and maybe he wasn't the right person. Or was he?

[Evee~Natalia]

A ray of sheer hope gleamed from his words making her spirits lift once more.Evee had to tell him a little bit about herself if she wanted to get somewhere. so she started again.

" Our meeting here today is no coincidence Sir Maril, I realize that now. Everything happens for a reason. To help you understand what's going on more thouroughly, I must tell you smething....About 2 years and 3 months past, an old wise woman in the city stopped me right in the middle of the streets and told me she had important news from my parents. Of course I replied 'My parents are dead ma'am I assure you.' Yet she said they've told her to deliver a message to me recently. She said ' dear girl, your parents know your prohecy, and for me to tell you that it must be fufilled to avenge their deaths...' I didn't know what to say or how to feel, it was such an awkward situation. Then what she said next startled me but also intrgued me...'Your mother and father knew they would be murdered before they could find a husband for you at the right age. So she chose one for you, this young man will share the same tragic past wth you. When you find him, you'll know it is him. He is the one that will not only love you forever, he will protect you and aid you on your journey to find his parents killers and your parents killers...'

"Just as she started to leave I grabbed onto her robes and stopped her...I said 'Please miss! Tell me who he is! You musn't leave me so confused and misguided!' To which she replied ' ....You will meet him in a place of busling buisness...Wait for him, your mate will come to you..' And with that, she left me. This is why I asked you that question. I may not remember much of my younger years, but this is something most important that I remember..."

Evee wanted to know if this man she was telling all this to was indeed her soulmate and protector as the old woman told her. For they shared the same past, was he not the one? It would be such a disappointment if this was all a waste of time. She really liked him, she felt a sense of security and passion in his presence.

Maril listened carefully while she naratted her story. It was a sad one indeed. This was something his brother might be of help in. Because his brother had told him that one day he would become what he dreamed of. But he knew nothing. Nothing at all. His mind was blank.

Maril sat there and thought. The person she was talking about could be him or one of his friends. Or it could even be someone out in the big, wide world outside. Searching that world would be hard. She would never be able to fulfill what she had wanted all her life.

Maril looked at her and said,"I'll help you find the one who has been chosen to be your protector. I'll help you out. I'll make sure you find out who he is. You're a really nice person and your dreams and hopes will come true." He didn't know what else to say. Those words just came out of his mouth.

Hearing those words from him gave her some relief, but it still didn't make her feel any better about being so lost. Her life is at a stand-still because she hasn't found her parents killers.

Evee looked back over at Maril and gave him a faint smile. "...Thank you, I needed to hear something reassuring. (sighs) I should be out having fun...Not mopeing around at a Tavern and ranting to you about my problems..." After that sentence, she took one last sip of her honey milk which was now getting cold and she took out four gold.

She put the gold up on the bar next to her mug then hopped up off of her stool, landing swiftly on her feet. Evee kept her head up high, but her emotions were down low. Her smile had long faded, the more she thought about her long journey, the more she got upset.

Evee looked over at Maril once more who was giving her a look of concern and said. "I must go Maril, my heart is heavy..." And before she walked arm's length away from him she looked over her shoulder at him with a smirk, "I won't forget what you said.I'll always remember what you say to me, Maril Mazmo of the Morytanians..."

Maril watched her go, silently. He had no words to say. He sat there quietly and just decided to walk out. He had never met someone so interesting before and with such a tale to tell. It was sad to see her go and it put him in a dismal mood. He looked down and his wounds and got up.

He saw her go, then disappear from view and slowly got to his feet and walk out of the tavern. Maybe fate was on his side and they would meet again.

Evee felt so low and alone whenever she talks of such things. Even worse, a man that she felt affection towards...Deep affection. "What's wrong with me? What am I doing?" She asked herself. Stopping in mid step, she did a 180 and was facing the Tavern again, "I could be making the biggest mistake of my life by leaving him, not even telling him where he could find me...."

Evee got the guts to go back inside the Tavern, and she did. She actually ran back inside to him. She saw him standing up and staring at her, she decided right then to let her concience control her because she knew she would do things right.

She walked up to him and kissed him with a passion, hoping that he wouldn't pull away. Evee could care less who was watching, she just didn't want to lose somene else who was close to her. It seemed as if the room was rotating and nothing could stop it. The feelings running through her were unexplainable.

Maril suddenly saw Evee coming back towards him. She came so close to him and then she kissed him. He didn't bcak out but he kissed her back. He couldn't believe she had come back in the first place. But kissing him was so extraordinary especially when you've never done it before.

Maril continued kissing her for a long time. He didn't know how the tme had passed...seconds, minutes or hours. But it was his first time. He didn't mind. He just started into her eyes. He was speechless.

Evee was glad that he didn't reject her, also glad that she got her first real kiss. Then she noticed people in the Tavern staring at them which made her cheeks turn rose red. "Uh, maybe we should talk outside?" She suggested hoping he would definatley agree.
