Riley silently walked towards the stables of the kingdom. He took in deep breaths as he began to think of home. He remembered his younger sister and brother. He had missed his little baby dragon he had found a week before he had come here. He wondered if he was as big as his father yet.
Walking into the Stables, he watched the horses as he searched for his, Lightning, amoung them. Lightning was his father's horse that he gave to him when he was 12. He and lightning understood each other, much as a rider and horse does. He smiled when he heard the soft nea of lightning. He slowly walked over to his old friend and petted his mane.
"Hello my friend. Having a good time here? You know the drill Lightning, midnight ride and I want no side tracking unless I direct it".
Lightning padded his foot and nudged his head. He smiled and patted his nose, then opening the door to let him out. He walked him out, closing the door afterward and walking him out the stable. When he felt the cold crisp air he took off his cloak and jacket, leaving only his think shirt on and hung it with the reins. He jumped on Lightning and lightly kicked him, setting him off in a decent run.

Guinevere rode by him on Akin, her brilliant white stallion. She was in her training clothes, the thin leather strips across her chest alittle worn now. She held her bow in her left hand, the reins of her horse in the right. Her sword was, like always, hanging loosely from her hip. She glanced over her shoulder at Riley and flashed him a quick smile. Her hair was no longer the vibrant red it had been when they first met. It was now a dark brown, almost black and seemed to draw out her eyes even more, making them stand out.
Deciding to take in alittle practice, she drew out an arrow and placed it between her fingertips, setting it up within her bow. With a quick motion of her wrists, she sent the arrow flying. The arrow dug into the tree, right in the center of the trunk.

Kaldaka slipped into the stables, her grey eyes cold in the half light. She whistled softly, high and low, then low and high, and a soft neigh answered her. A smile came onto her face in answer, and she whispered softly as she came closer to her horse's stall, "Good girl. You're my feisty one, aren't you, angel?"
She patted her horse and then opened the stall door. The mare stepped out delicately, tossing her black mane. Kaldaka smiled at her horse. "You match me all the way, don't you, Moonlight?" Her horse's full name was Moonlight Revenge, but she scarcely called her anything but Moonlight. The horse's grey eyes surveyed her calmly for a moment before she neighed and then snorted as she jumped sideways. "Whoa there!" Kaldaka said softly, and the horse immediately stopped.
Kaldaka jumped onto her horse's back, her black cloak helping her to seem part of the black horse. Moonlight stamped her foot, a tremor going through her body in anticipation of the ride before her. "Go," Kaldaka breathed, so softly it could barely be heard. The horse reared high and then cantered out of the stables, nodding her head and tossing her mane as she passed two horses that were near each other. Kaldaka nodded her head to the riders and pulled her horse to a sotp. "A wonderful night for a ride," she said softly, indicating the clear sky above.

Guinevere smiled at the girl, lowering her bow. She looked back at Riley once more. She felt something for him but if asked she'd never admit it for she was as strong-willed as her mother.

Riley smiled to Guinevere as rode next to him. He watched her as she practised, he always enjoyed the company in a ride and he enjoyed Guinevere's. He heard another pain of hooves and noticed another young girl riding up next to them. He slowed lightning down and soon halted by Guin's arrow. He smiled to the young woman and bowed his head.
"Tis a perfect night for a ride".

Guinevere nodded her head in agreement, enjoying the crisp night air against the bare skin of her shoulders.

Riley soon slid down, now revealing he had ridden without anything to control his horse. He merely smiled and pulled Guinevere's arrow out, undamaged and reached for something in his pants. He found it and smiled, then kept it there. He turned and looked to Guinevere.
"Do you mind if I borrow your bow mi lady?"

She smiled, jumping off of Akin. She tossed him the bow, resting against her horse. She looked up at the moon, her gaze only wavering there momentarily.

Riley bowed his head in thanks and positioned the arrow. He pulled the arrow, aiming at the tree nearest to the stables. He smirked, perhaps they would believe him to reach it, but this arrow was meant for something else. He walked closer to the tree and in no particular manner, released his grip, sending the arrow high into the tree. He tossed Guinevere her bow and walked 5 feet from where he had sent the arrow. Within seconds the arrow was coming straight towards him. He caught it inches from his face and smiled to the others, there was 6 apples on the arrow. He walked back and took one arrow off.
"Anyone care for an apple?"

"I'm starving... haven't eaten all day." Guin said smiling. She adjusted one of her armbands but fell backwards as she leaned back, realizing Akin had moved. "That hurt..." she said, laughing.

Riley watched her fall backwards and ran to her, catching her before she could actually hit the ground, helping her up and handing her an apple.
"Well I can imagine", he said with a chuckle.
He took off another apple and whistled softly.
"Any horses wish for an apple too?"

She smiled. "Thanks..." she said taking a bite of her apple. Akin ran up to Riley, his eyes hopeful. "Akin! Everything I've even attempted to eat today who ate first." she said looking at her white stallion.

Riley chuckled and gave Akin his apple, then throwing Lightning one. He took another and bit into it.
"Perhaps you should feed him some more apples then", he said after he swallowed.

"Perhaps... but he eats every thirty minutes. which is way more than I can say for me..." she said pointing to her rather thin figure.

"Well perhaps he's the general reason why", he said with a smile.
He then felt Lighning nudge him and he patted his nose.
"One for now..perhaps later I'll give you more".
