Eranni crouched low, leaning against rough bark with an arrow at the string of her bow. She had been released from training in the capital, and been allowed home for a break and visit during the worst of the winter weeks.
She felt more relaxed then she had in months, back in her home mountains. Here she had been born and raised. She heard movement, and tightened her grip. If she could snag tonights dinner then maybe she would be free of the mercey of her older brother's and cousins!

David was walking through the underbrush heading toward the mountains. He made regular visits to one of the caves. Though only a few knew of it. He stopped to rest for awhile. The pack that he was carrying was heavy and full. He scratched his head as he looked toward the tops of the mountains. He let out sigh and started again.

Eranni heard something approaching, and she made herself as small as possible. She waited, closing her eyes and listening. Footfall, footfall, footfall... that was a big creature! Perhaps an elk? She frowned, but wait? She listened again. No, it couldn't be a four legged creature...
She peeked around the tree, finally catching sight of her 'prey'. She laughed, lowering her bow and stepping out. "I doubt you would make a meal for my family and I." She called.

He turned and saw her. He noticed that she was outfitted with a bow. He laughed back. "I seriously doubt that I'd taste that good." he replied, "But what I have in my pack could probably feed an army." He walked up to her and set his pack on the ground. "So Lady Eranni how have you been lately?"

Eranni felt her cheeks pinken slightly as he called her 'Lady'. No one else did. "I am well she answered, fitting her bow across her back. "Home for a time." She licked dry lips. "What do you do in these parts?"

"I camp out in a cave within the mountains." David replied pointing toward the mountain tops. "I find that they are a good location for training and other things such as that."

Eranni nodded. She knew of the caves. She and her brothers had been banned from them as children-- but that had never stopped them from explaoring them. "Out in the cold all alone? You should come to Norhtower." The words were out of her mouth before she had time to think. She blinked.

David blinked in surprise and took a large gulp. He didn't know how to explain what he thought. He wasn't going to be exactly alone. He looked up at the mountain tops and looked down at her again. He sighed as he thought how to word this. "Thank you," he started, "but..."

Eranni blushed deeper, "Listen, nevermind me... you don't want to come to Northtower anyway." She pushed hair from her eyes, fidgeting on the spot.

"Why wouldn't I want to come?" he asked. He looked at her questioningly. He noticed that her cheeks were blushed and that she was fidgeting. He thought that she might be nervous, but he did not know why.

"I would love to come and visit everyonce in awhile." David replied, "Though I'll stay in the cave that I'm going to. If that is alright with you." He looked down at her and noticed that she blushed again.

Eranni nodded, and rubbed her cheeks. Half-wit, half-wit! "Well, you're welcome to eat with us." Eranni said, pulling her bow from her back again. "My Ma will go crazy if she thinks for a minute a warrior is hungry." She gestured to a hardly seen path. "It's this way, if you wish to come. Mind I should try and hunt some more."

"Hm, how about I go to the cave first. I'm sure there is some game that I might of left there." David responded. He observed the path that she had pointed. He wanted to go to the cave, but didn't want her to feel bad.

Eranni nodded. "Do as you wish, I'm going after a fowl if I must." She wasn't about to take his game! She had gone hunting and would hunt! She rolled her shoulders and started back on to the paths. "Go to your caves, I know where the birds nest. I'll be back soon." She ran off, hurrying past branches.
