"Nothing in there," Kaldaka reported, flashing David a grin as she pulled her ear away. Placing her hand on the handle of the door, she felt it carefully before twisting it ever so slightly, testing it. Nodding her head, as if confirming something to herself, she carefully opened the door and then stepped back, letting David go in first.

David looked at her puzzlingly. "I thought you were the assassin." he said jokingly. He walked before her and peered into the room. It seemed to be a library of sorts. He looked around through the books reading off titles silently to himself. He went to the desks and pulled open any draws and opened up any cabinets. He found nothing that seemed of importance, except for an old skeleton key. He figured that he would take it when they were about to leave.

Kaldaka remained outside of the door, waiting for David to come out. When he did, she explained, "I wished to stay outside in case something came, in which case I could pretend I was the only person here." Looking carefully around her, she stole across the corridor, laying her ear against the door for a moment and then pulling it away, going through the same procedure she had gone through with the other door, and then stepping aside and letting David pass in.

David swiped the skeleton key before he left. He slid it in a pocket and heard her explanation. "And leave me here all alone if you left." he replied as he entered the other room. This room didn't seem like much. It was more of a storage room of some type. He moved objects out of the way and examined the entire room. He checked nearly every corner and all four walls, just incase of secret compartments.

Kaldaka snorted as David searched. "No, in which case I would probably have to fight him and- if I know anything about him, I might kill him, but he'd probably end up killing me first." Her smile quirked. "My mind works in different patterns than most peoples. It's one of the things that makes me so suited to be an assassin." Once he came out, she closed the door and proceeded down the hall, repeating her procedure at the next door.

David followed inside the room. This was obviously someone's bedroom. It wasn't all that bad. There was bed and a chair that was positioned by the window for looking out of it. He looked around through the draws of the dresser and the closet. This was obivously a girls room. He shrugged his shoulders and walked back out into the hallway. "Oh, so you'd think that you would get killed." he responded, "Well, that doesn't sound very much like an assassin if you ask me. What good is an assassin if they get killed?"

"None whatsoever," Kaldaka replied cheerily. "But you see, I'm not an assassin yet. I'm merely an assassin-in-training, which is quite different from an assassin. The man is- understandably- quite stronger than me. I use my agility and a rapier to protect myself- he uses his strength and a longsword." She shrugged. "I'm not quite ready to confront him yet." Her eyes darkened and a flame flickered into them. "But soon I will be. Soon." Closing the door, she moved across the hall to repeat her procedure.

"That's true," he replied as he walked out from the bedroom. David walked past Kaldaka and looked down the hall. This seemed almost too easy. Nobody was walking these halls and patrolling the place. He would have thought for sure that there would've been somebody. He remembered that day, there were about three people that he knew resided here. Did he kill Viktor when he was last here? He shook his head, there was no way that could have happened. He waited for Kaldaka to open the door without saying a single word.

The door swung open with a loud screech and a frown came onto Kaldaka's face. "I don't like that," she whisipered to David. "I checked the door and it should have opened without any sort of screech. There's a specific way I figure out how to open a door so it doesn't make noise, and this one shouldn't have." She frowned uneasily and peered in. "I'm coming in this time," she said firmly. "There's something in here that I don't like." Wrapping her cloak more firmly around her, she stepped in, her face hard and cold and her steel eyes glinting dangerously.

"Alright." David replied quietly. He wasn't sure what was going to happen next. He stood where he was and watched the hall. He looked up and down it. Still no sign of anything approaching them. He looked back towards the room that Kaldaka entered. He didn't hear anything, but his own breathing and heartbeat. Something seemed to be wrong. Was this a trap? Did Viktor know that he would be back? Or was something else waiting for them here?

Kaldaka drew in a deep breath as she noiselessly stole into the room, looking around quietly as she sought for the source of the evil she was feeling. Finally she located it. On a small table, a round black ball made of obsidian sat in a small container, red flickers of light inside it. Kaldaka's face closed when she saw it, becoming emotionless. Picking it up and placing it in her pocket, she slipped back out of the room and closed it without a word. Closing her eyes for a moment, she took a deep breath and moved on to the next door, opening it carefully.

"What was in there?" David asked quietly. He could tell that something was wrong, or that something was bothering her. He followed her to the next door. He stood there watching her and waiting for her reply. It bothered him to see her bothered so. It was something that he wouldn't want an assassin to be in such a mood.

Kaldaka opened the door carefully, then stood staring at it, lost in thought. Finally she came back. "In there? Nothing important," she said calmly, but her eyes were troubled as she turned away to gaze down the hall. "Nothing important to you, that is," she corrected herself softly.

David watched her as she stood there and answered his questions. He nodded in agreement not wanting to push the subject anymore. It was the same as his spear head. It was important to him for it was more than just the edge of a weapon. He quietly walked into the room and took a look around. There was a fire in the fire place though it was unattended. Whoever was here must had left before they arrived, they would eventually return to this room. He quickly scanned and searched the many draws and cabinents in the room. He picked up a book that the title was nearly worn out. He was able to make out one word however in the title: "Tiamat."

As David picked the book up, Kaldaka looked with curiosity at it, but kept her mouth closed, not sure whether or not he wanted her to know what it was. It was up to him, and if he wanted to keep it to himself she didni't have a problem with it.
